Hit and run

So decided we had a nice Saturday night forecasted so why not take the new camper for a second 1 night shake down. Got to the storage lot (HOA doesn't allow at home) and noticed my trailer was crooked in spot

Then noticed the front landing gears were slid over

Looked for damage on the hitch and above hitch thinking someone clipped me and saw none. The started wondering with all the snow melt and early storm caused it to slide a little. Took the pics as something told me to do so. Went home loaded camper, went camping. After I setup and installed 2 vent covers is started chatting with a neighbor. Since the a/c was running I started getting the condensation drip on the front corner and it caused me to look up and ARRGH!

Site pitched down going back so the landing gears were almost all the way retracted so now the damage was easily visible. Someone hit me pretty good, I can only assume it was my storage lot neighbor but didn't see any obvious damage on his trailer. Though I did notice he has a slide topper at the exact height of my damage. So now will be spending time tomorrow calling storage lot to see if there is any video or anything they can do to help me. Not a happy camper!

I would be furious if that happened to us.
We, fellow campers always lookout for each other (at least I do) ....that is disappointing to say the least specially if the person that hit you knew about it and didn't say anything or leave a note...

sorry to see that

WOW! They hit you pretty good to move the front over like that! So sorry to see this on you new baby! I would take to dealer and have them only do an estimate of replacing the entire front cap. No other damage down the side at that same height?

Hit and run

Really sorry to hear about this. The first thing you need to do is file an insurance claim. Certainly do what you can by talking with the lot management and getting your dealer's service center involved, but the claim comes first.

Another reason I'm glad we can keep ours at our house. I know not everyone can but then again if I had of done this to someone I would have left a note attached with a number to call. Some people will not take responsibility for anything they do. They had to hear that, feel that or see it happen but won't own up to it. I think you should file a police report to, it is a hit and run the only problem is you moved it and they will look at you as though you did it.

The neighbor had no damage visible anyway. He is also a new neighbor wasn't there when I dropped her 3 weeks ago so honestly it could have happened before they moved in by someone else. Of coarse they could have left a note that got washed away but doubt they did

I did call the dealer and talked to the service department when I noticed as I was worried about water. Told me it probably would not hurt anything as it is a void behind the cap even said the body guy may be able repair/paint however when I raised up to hitch weather came out above the pin , only a couple of ounces so I would want to at least have it removed to ensure no water damage

I agree to move a 13,500# camper there had to have been some force or drag they definitely knew they did it. Want to find out from storage owner if they heard of anything prior to calling my insurance as I don't want to raise my rates.... Got a big path of duct tape over it now for water protection.
