Honda EU2200i
Has any one tried this new Honda generator? Will it run a single RV air conditioner? The rating is 15 amps continuous. The older EU 2000 will not. Thanks

By the amp draw of the a/c on a hot day I would say no. Now if you turned everything off like your converter which will pull a addition 2 to 3 amps, also adding a hard start and delayed fan control you might get away with it. But I would be watching the voltage to.

I sold my pair of EU2000i's and picked one up about a month ago. Got it broke in and used a few times. It's a good improvement over the previous model. To me it was worth getting a new one.

So why did you get just one? I'm assuming one will not run ac.

I have 13.5k a/c in my trailer but only used the dual generators a couple of times since I usually camp at over 7500 feet the majority of the time. My neighbors have a 15k a/c with a Micro-Air and he runs the a/c at lower altitudes with a EU2000i. He is jealous of my new EU2200i.

Ah, thanks. I keep looking at the Micro-Air for my two 15k a/cs, but they are too expensive for now. At least until it is time to replace my dual Honda EU2000is. They are now almost 12 years old, used heavily, and still going strong, so it might be awhile!

What is this term Micro-Air if I may ask?

It's a fancy soft starter for your RV a/c. Some folks claim they can run their 15k a/c with one 2000 inverter generator. I haven't personally seen proof yet, but it reads good. Just a little expensive

I should clarify that I sold my sold my old pair of EU2000i's for a good price and I initially bought two of the new Honda EU22200i's because I got a good deal on the pair. I sold the new companion to my son as I rarely use the a/c. I agree the Micro-air is expensive and for two a/c's I don't think it would be worth the cost.
