Hot, hot, hot!!!

So we're supposed to leave in a couple of days to head up to Kansas and Missouri, just in time for the horrible heat!

We've never taken the TT out in this kind of heat before. Will the fridge and AC hold up? Any tips y'all can give would be greatly appreciated!!!

Over the Independence Day weekend we were out three days at temps near 100 at the Lake of the Ozarks. Everything went fine but the A/C did run alot. Where are you going in KS and MO?

Hays and Ellis KS, we'll be staying at the Cedar Bluff State Park. Then on to Shell Knob, MO at Campbell Point marina/rv park. Then Daisy state park in AR, then back home to TX!

Small world. My parents are from out in the Ellis county area. Mom was from Hays itself and my Dad was out in Catherine. Most of my aunts, uncles, cousins are still out there. Scattered from Victoria to Plainville to Liebenthal and of course Hays.

Giebler is the name that would be all over Ellis county. Dad was the youngest of 13; most of them girls so lots of other names from marriages but Giebler would tie back to the heart of the family.

Fridge will be fine. Cover your roof vents with foil to reflect the heat and you will help out your AC a LOT! Park in the shade if possible!

I use a plug-in fan from the house to keep the air moving along with the A/C as need be. Keep plenty of cool water on hand. Opening up the awning will help keep the one side of the trailer a bit cooler. Some people will use a ice chest for cold drinks so that the fridge door is not opened as often.

We are in Ala so 100 plus days are the norm. We get our ac going as soon as we get there and use a cooler for bevs as to not open the fridge. Our TT is a 25 ft with a 13.5 ac unit and it works fine. We've been out 7 times this year plus tried out our Yamaha Gen on Sat in our yard for 5 hrs in 100 plus degrees and it works great.

Never heard of, or seen this idea before. do you cover them from the outside? Or just inside? I would likley want to be able to take advantage of any cool evening/night breeze to let the A/C rest for a few hours.

We often boondock, where A/C isn't a viable option (unless you want to run a generator continually), so this is something that I may try...

get a couple box fans!! they will help move the air and have the AC just dump the cold air straight down!!

We camped over the 4th in our HTT and the AC didn't kick off very often but it kept it plenty cool. We too use fans to move the cool air around, especially in the bunk ends.

We wrapped cardboard with foil and taped them inside across the vents. It isn't pretty, but it sure helps in this heat!

Yeah, we already have all the windows and "sky lights" covered in the foily bubble wrap type stuff. We're bringing the generator just in case. And I'm praying for some sort of weather miracle! Please, God, let the weather cooperate!!!
