Hot water anode

Just wanted to pass this on, now that my camper is in the shop waiting for the insurance company i had winterize the camper. I pulled the anode rod out of the water heater and wanted to show it to all. This anode rod is as old as the camper "2006" which came with the camper when i bought it new, if i get the camper back i will be installing a new one.

Yeah that one is about at the end of its usefulness.

Yeah, you got the good out of that one.

I'm sure there are plenty of white "droppings" in the bottom of the HWH tank.
A good flushing is in order here.
(This last comment aimed at new campers mostly.)

Happy Camping!

Wow. I owned my tt for 6 years and my anode rod still looked awesome in comparison to yours.
I wonder if draining my hw heater after each use makes that much difference?
I am not saying it looked new by any means but I would say 80%

looks like u have a couple more good years left in it. no more than they cost, i would replace also.
as long as any of it (except the wire) is left, it works.

The condition of the water supply and how long it is in use will determine how long it will last. most of the camping we do is at campgrounds that have wells, however for the past 4 months the water supply has been public and the water heater was in constent use. The anode rod is about 6 years old and according to the service department it still has some life left.

If your anode rod is not showing any wear there a few things that is going on,1. You have found the perfect water supply.
2. Your rod is not doing it's job and if that's the case you will be replacing your water heater sooner than needed.

I do have a new anode rod on hand which i bought two years ago for $8 bucks.

the condition of f1100turbo's anode rod is probably a combination of both.
