Household SAT Reciever in TT???

I use digital cable in my home and have been thinking of changing to SAT. While looking at one the 8 billion camping world ads that came to the house I saw some good prices on portable dishes and it struck me...why couldn't I just buy one of those dishes and hook up a reciever that is pulled out of the house and bring it when on the road in the TT? Is this possible?

Yes, you can take one of your recievers from home. We have considered it but with DISH we have heard it is much more work to set up than with Direct. Good luck!

You can purchase a used sat (that would match your future home dish) on Craigslist. I think Dtv even offers a portable package. I've seen ads for it in trailer life magazine. I built a suction mount for my dish that I found on rvmods.com and carry an extra dish in the tt. Pointing the dish isnt hard once you get use to it. Good luck.
