How do I tell what the true year model of my travel trailer is?

We're about to purchase a travel trailer that's advertised on a dealer's web site as a 2010, but they say it's a 2011. The manufacture date is 2/28/2010 - is this a 2010, or a 2011?

Thanks!

Look at your VIN number. It's located on the off door side front lower corner. Look at the 8th digit from the right. If it's A, you have a 2010. If it's B, you have a 2011. This little trick works for pretty much every vehicle with a 17 digit VIN (trailers, cars, whatever) since about the late 70's. It started out A, B, C, ... Then it went to 1, 2, 3, ... in 2001, 2002, 2003... Now, it's back to the letters again. This is sure to confuse many people several years down the road.

Thanks for the great info - that's good to know! Based on what you just told me, we'll be getting a 2011 235RKS this Friday

Heartland was making 2011 model year trailers in September/October 2009. I kid you not.

My opinon, it's a 2010 since it's built that early in the year. Seems like they manipulated the vin to give it an extra year on the lot to get max $$$.

Ah, but when you go to sell that unit, it can be advertised as a 2011.
