How do you fly your flag ~ pictures

I want to buy a "drive on' flag pole holder and put it under my front landing gear, has any one done this? Show us how you fly your flags, we fly two off our awning now and have to bring em in when the wind picks up.

I built a pvc flag pole. I fly both the US Flag and my state flag. I have a 4 ft long piece of rebar that I put in the ground and then place a washer on it. The pvc pole sits on the rebar on the washer and it spins in the wind. Click image for larger version

I purchased two spare tire holders and mounted them on the A frame on either side of the battery. I drilled four holes in each and mounted two U clamps to secure the flag poles. As you can see I made my own poles out of PVC pipe. When it's very windy, I attach a tent stake to the bottom of the pole to hold it in place. I also insert a smaller piece of pipe in the lower half to add stiffness so not to bend into the camper.

Do you have any closeup pictures on how it is attached? Did you buy the bracket or make it?

What's the deal with using a tee and having the extra piece of PVC hanging off the end of it? Why not just use a 90 degree elbow? I see this everywhere and it makes no sense.

The only instance I can see where it would make sense is if your PVC was a diameter larger than a wooden flagpole that you could then slide into it and the wooden pole would bottom out on the cap in that extra piece, but that's not what I see anybody doing.

Please explain.

ID:	102896 Flag holder made of PVC, collapses into 3 sections. We can use it as 1, 2, or 3 sections, depending on the site.

I made the bracket which slips into a space on my pin box. It could be modified and bolted to other types of setups.

Originally my flag pole was the drive on flag holder and now I still use the holder but use wire ties to affix the pole to the rear latter with pole stuck in drive on holder. Later RJD
