How many miles do you tow a day

Curious to see how many miles most of you drive when traveling on an RV trip to a destination? Do you do a marathon 600 or more miles a day? How fast do you tow?

Thanks in advance.

200-250 max and 55-65 mph. Maybe stretch it to 1-1/4 tanks of gas (350 miles max).

I generally try to stay at or near 8 hours in a day, but have gone much further. Coming back form Colorado we did about 16 hours in a single day. That was a little shy of 800 miles.

I am not in any hurry to get to my destination so try to only travel 300 miles per day. Some days are shorter and other are longer. Plus when traveling across country will try to stay at a CG for 2 nights when going to a different time zone. When going from Ontario to British Columbia it is a distance of 3000 miles and we usually take 14 days to drive it. I try to keep my speed below 60 mph and when going over mountain passes will keep my RPM's below 3500. I am not going to make any new speed records but why should l put more stain on truck then needed. Most times we will get behind a semi and follow it up the mountains.

Usually 400 miles with a max of 500 at speeds between 65 and 70.

We plan our trips so we don't become uncomfortable or too tired. No more than 250 miles a day.

we usually drive 4-6 hours a day, sometimes we go 8-9 but not often. Mileage doesn't really matter, its time that gets to us. Towing mountain roads we go 45-60 and highway 65-75 ( Colorado speed limits)

I agree, I hear of some guys pulling 7% grades at 55 - 60 mph with throttle wide open, transmission at 230 deg. etc. It's the journey not the destination. Well not exactly but the journey is nice.

On our most recent long trip (Western MD to Myrtle Beach), we would only do about 250-275 miles per day, traveling at 55-60mph. We have 3 Shelties, so we make fairly frequent stops.

400-500 miles per day. 200 Miles to keep the tank full and bladder empty.
EDIT: I tow @ 65-70mph on average. Fuel mileage 11mpg at those speeds. Any slower gives me approx. 1 mpg at best.

I like 300-400 a day, the truck needs to stop somewhere in the 330 mile range while towing and the wife needs to stop at a about 4X that rate. I have done 650 (BIL's house to mine.) several times, it's not bad but not a preference.

I tend to set the cruise at no more than 70 or right at the limit, whichever is posted.

Edit to add- With the TT, that thing was so aerodynamically filthy that 55 or 70, it got 10.5MPG. It didn't matter. Now once I did pull it home at 75-80 once and got 8MPG. <-- Many moons ago, I don't want to hear it today.

I've noticed (Not done experimenting yet) that my 5er gets about 11 at 65-70, but pulls nearly 12 if I'm on back highways running 55ish. I need to chart it closer and really see.

If we are driving for two day s going approximately 1000 miles we drive about 640 miles the first day when we are fresh and the 360 the next day. We take our time and stop at rest areas.

On our last trip, I drove an average of 14 hours per day @ 60 mph.

I have been reading how some people only drive 250 miles per day. I can't wait until I have that much time to take on a vacation.

last trip was 650 miles in day.....varies and depends on traffic, time of day and so on...we just kind of go as we please....if we feel like driving we drive, if not we stop.......with the extra tank I can run close to 1100 miles before needing to stop, so with being able to just pull over and not have to worry about fuel stops we seem to cover more miles with less stress.

We run at posted speed. Most secondary roads I drive are 80 kph or 50 mph. Set cruise at 85 km per hour so I am not slower than traffic. On the 4 lane highways I drive 100 kph or 62 mph the posted limit. Running any faster and gust of wind or a car changing lanes makes it just too hard to stop. I would rather have them running 115 kph passing and out of my way.

Travel 200 to 250 per day when touring. Most weekend parks we frequent are 2 to 2.5 hours away.

Brian

Youroo! I can believe that! It's 18 miles from Chassell to Squaw Beach and after that you were looking for nude Pocahontas running down the beach the rest of the day.
