How many miles will you tow this year?
How many miles will you tow this year? We've already towed 2500 miles back from a west coast trip. Now we're planning a late summer/fall trip from MO to Glacier Nat Park in Montana. It will be nice to be in the high country in August.
Then, across and down the west coast on the Redwood highway to the north Bay Area. And then, back to MO on the southern route I40 in late September.
It will all add up to about 8000 miles this year, but the planning is as much fun as the trip.
We've taken many routes to the west over the years, and always like to explore any sites along the northwest about the Oregon Trail, and the Lewis and Clark Corp of Discovery, so there will be plenty of places to allow time for.
This may not be much compared to some of our Canadian brothers who travel far into the US south for the winter, but it would be interesting to know others long trip plans.
What a Country!

Roughly 8550 last year which is amazing as both of us work.
This year we don't know yet as we have nothing planned until some things come out in the wash.

Right now the plan is to bounce around Florida for a few months and maybe even until August. I assume we'll likely hit something like 2,000-2,500 miles just bouncing around the state.
From there, we head to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta by October, so that'll be another 1,800-2,500 miles depending on how much deviating we do to stop and sight-see along the way (having 2 months to stop along the way).
And then we aren't sure- either drop back down to Texas for a southern Texas/Gulf Coast Christmas or up to Nevada and then to southern California for Christmas. So another 1,000 - 1,500 miles with side trips.
So, 4,800 to 6,500 miles. I guess we'll figure it out before too long.

Should be about ZERO this year as we plan to sell the 2018 Cherokee. We've got our cabin now and plan on spending about 90% of the summer there. 1:45 drive and we can go anytime we want...no reservations needed.

We will be lucky to get 1000 miles in this year. We will be welcoming a new camping buddy in April, so need to see how well she does camping.

The odometer tells me the miles, but one place we stay was 72 nights last year!

Sometime in the next couple of weeks we are going to do a night or two boondocking just to see what we can get out of our battery power.
A long drive...one (1) mile up the road to the Walmart parking lot!
Guess I'd better get those wheel bearings and brakes checked out first!
This will also complete one tick off of the bucket list...what I call 'Walmarting'!
Never done it yet...gotta try it out!

Nice map, Is there a link to the map?
As far as towing, I will head out this spring, my circle will include east to west coast, then up to Canada head back over to east Coast. Don't know how many miles, but I can't wait until the rubber hits the road.

6000 miles in 2019. We are not retired, but will be doing a 6 week cross country trip in addition to local/regional trips. We’ve made almost all our 2019 camping reservations as of this week, so we are shifting gears to ready/upgrade the rig. Then short trial runs, like Walmarting and very local campgrounds. Then traveling an hour or more regionally to really dial it in before the epic cross country adventure.

I just use mapping like Bing or Google maps, and use Snipping Tool found in Windows Accessories to take a snapshot pic of something on my screen. Just box it in and save it as a pic. If you find Snipping Tool, you can pin it to your tool bar.
It works great and you can even copy segments of PDF files

We probably did 9500 miles last year, 8125 miles on a 2 month journey. This year we already have 500 miles and are planning on a summertime trip around the SE US. we'll see what the rest of the year brings.

7500 miles around the east coast on one trip last year plus about 1000 miles on short trips. This summer we have a trip we will be doing a 5 or 6 week trip through the Rockies that will add up to about 7000 miles plus a bunch of short midwestern trips.
As far as taking kids camping, one of our daughters was 36 hours old when we took her tent camping for the first time. All 4 daughters have camped in 40 states. Three of them still camp whenever possible.

Based on my mileage for last year I'll probably do another 10,000 miles in 2019.
Rather than LONG trips I expect to be gone for a couple weeks, home for a couple, and back on the road. Have so many places in my home state and the two surrounding states I haven't been to yet it's time to explore.
May even get to Canada if I get off my backside and either upgrade my Driver's License (for Fed accepted ID) or get a passport.

We left New Hampshire on 7/1 an headed west.
After a few over nighters we got to Jaskson Hole, from there to Yellowstone, Glazier, Banff, Jasper.
Came back to the States and headed to Seattle, down the coast of Cal, Vegas, Carbad Caverns. Then while we were in The area we went to Houston to catch a Red Sox playoff game. We then continued east to N'orlens. After that to the Florida Panhandle down the west coast. In time to arrive in Venice Florida for November 1st. I think the total was about 8,600 miles. We got a lot off the bucket list.

Last year was our first year and we did a little over 5000 miles. This year we are currently booked for a six week trip to Portland Oregon via Yellowstone then a Stop in Colorado Springs on the way back to SW Ohio. We will also do a few local trips as well as a trip to the Smokey Mountains in the fall. All this will probably put us somewhere between 8,000 to 10,000 miles for the year. Like was said lots of prep to do before hitting the road. Happy camping!
