How often do you change oil in your TV?

I have a 2005 GMC 2500 6.0 l that I use mostly to tow my camper with. I changed oil in the spring and since then I have driven about 3,500 miles up and over the Rocky Mountains and back. I am getting ready for another trip to the rockies this time it will be about a 2,000 mile round trip. I use Mobil 1 synthetic. My friend says towing up over the mountains is extreme duty and I should change oil before this next trip. I told him I thought the synthetic oil should last longer. Now I'm not so sure. Wondering what everyone else is doing?

I would change the oil. Your truck should have a oil life moniter on it. What percentage is it at?? I do full synthetic and change every 4K

Oil does not wear out just gets dirty. Although I do change at 5000 miles I know people that never change oil just change the filter about 4000 miles. They also keep vehicles 10 to 15 years. To me extreme duty on your engine is cranking it drive across town shut it down cool off the do the same thing that evening. With oil test you will find out this causes acid build up that is more harmful to the engine than crossing the Rocky Mountains a few times.

Change mine once a year in the Spring. Really only use the truck for towing and a few trips out of town to keep it charged. 2011 and has just over 6700 miles on it.

Every 4-4500 miles with M1. An oil change is cheaper than a motor and pushing the factory programmed OLM. Synthetic is better at lubricating, but it still breaks down like standard oil, it just takes longer. I would change the oil before the next trip!

Every 5000 miles with regular 15w40 Rotella-T dinasour juice.
I occasionally send samples to Blackstone Labs and they always come back telling me I could go longer intervals if I wanted,

At 211,000 on my '01 PSD there have been no interal engine issues or oil related issues. Original turbo, injectors, HPOP, etc.

Between every 3k to 5k. I have a Ford 6.0 so I have to keep the oil fresh.

I change mine about every 5k or 1 year. With that said it has 3k on it now, but I am going on a 3-4k trip and will change it before I leave and then shortly after I get back. Just my personal preference.
