How to hook up RV PARK Cable to my 2013 CoachmenFreelander

1. ok I connected the coax cable from the lot post to the cable connection located beside my water sources
2. I connected my Jensen TV to the Comcast cable box that the park gave me
3. I connected the cable box to the antenna/cable/12v power source located in the bunk space above the cab
4.I switched my tv source from air to cable
5. I called Comcast and they sent a signal that "activated" the box
6. on screen it searched for cable network, did the 100% scan
7. no channels
8. 8 hours later and 3 calls to Comcast I still have no channels.....sigh

1. what am I doing wrong?
2. should the power button on the antenna wall plate be on or off

any help would be appreciated.

It's a booster for over the air station and you are using a direct connection thru coaxial cable

If they gave you a remote make sure the cable button on the remote is highlighted hit the power button and within a couple seconds hit the ok button might have to push it a couple times that should bring up a diagnostic screen arrow down to #3 and than right arrow see if it has carrier lock if it doesn't say yes it's probably the inside wiring if that's the case try running it from the post to the back of the comcast box and do the diagnostic thing again that'll tell you if it's inside or outside

the image that I get on the screen appears when the box is connected to the tv but it appears even IF the box is not connected to the cable plate above the bunk which tells me there is communication between the box and the tv.

the image of the box shows a green light but the light is actually blinking

It only passed through from one of the inputs - either the boosted over-the-air antenna when it's on or the cable input when it's off.

It's just how they're designed.

Ok sorry, you have to hold the info button down on that one till the diagnostic comes up then check tuner status you have to hit enter and last button to see the screens and I think the channel up down to scroll it should say cat present if that says yes then it's comcast side

I would think another option is to bypass the motorhome's wiring entirely - run a cable through a door, window or slide and see if it works that way.

What he says! Do you have enough cable slack from the connection for camp plug to trailer outside plug that you could take it loose from the trailer, run it through a window or door straight to the cable box? I'd want to by pass all the other stuff and go straight to cable box then to TV to make sure everything works.

You said the cable company sent a "Ping" to the cable box, did they confirm they can see the box? If so then maybe you just need to run a cable out of the box straight to your TV if that works then you at least you have narrowed down between 2 points where your problem is.

After turning the wall switch off, you have to get Comcast to ping the box. They should be able to tell you if they're able to 'see' it.

Have you tried another box? Bypassing the RV's cable net by running a cable out of a window or door directly to the box is a good idea.

Have you ever had this problem before?

Let us know what the fix is.

i'm confused.

are you in a RV park or at home?
you shouldn't need a cable box if you're at a RV park that has cable.

bikendan -I think he said the park gave him the box which means the park has a cable service requiring boxes to descramble the signal. Some are like that so no one can "sneak in" and steal the cable signal.

well, then if that's the case, the park should help him out.
but the antenna booster button should be off, for the cable to work.

Or at least have provided written setup steps.
Maybe try without the box. ??

My 2 cents

The stress of dealing with Jensen technical issues will lead to a stroke...or brain melt. My advice...sell the RV.
