How to repair the side window on a pop up

I have a 1998 Forest River Freedom 1620 pop up trailer that's in great shape except for one thing. There's a large window on the sink side of the trailer that has a zip opening with a dark plastic insert for privacy. The dark plastic zips down on the top and two sides and there's a screen behind it to keep bugs out.

The black plastic has come loose from the stitching in a couple of places due to age and use and I'd like to get it replaced. The places in my area that I've checked with say they can't fix it unless the whole panel section that that window is in can come out.

I opened up the trailer yesterday to take a look. I does look like that section will unzip from the canvas section in front of and behind it. However, I'm not sure how that section is attached to the roof. It's possible that if I take down the plastic slides that curtains slide back and forth it will reveal how that section is attached, but I'm not sure.

Has anyone got any suggestions or had any experience with getting this type of window fixed or removing a section of the canvas siding?

Thanks!

Gary
