Well, there were no injuries and thanks for the thought. My wife and i had just left the bedroom about 12:30 am because of the wind we were in the rear of the camper where the living room is, we were there for about 10 min the next thing we heard was a bang on the roof so i went out side and there it was, from that point on we were up until 6 am.
I had to remove the limb myself it was approx 8 to 12" in dia at the biggest end, i was able to lift and roll the limb at the same time, but the damage was all ready done to the roof, once the limb fell off of the camper roof it wedged between the power jack and the battery i was not able to lift it up at this point, the only tool that i had was a cordless drill and some paddle bits so i drilled three holes in the limb and then snaped it in two.
The damage that i can see right now is:
1-The skylite is crack over the shower.
2-Both vent pipes to the black tank and the grey tank are broken off at the roof
3-Maxx air vent is broken over the benroom roof vent
4-The gutter over the bedroom exterior door is bent at the roof line
5-Two holes in the roof material
6-On top of the front of the roof where it rolls up to the flate part is scaped
I have to make temporary repairs for now because i have no other place to live before it go's to the service department. The limb had just miss the a/c unit and the awning was roll closed.
We toke out extra insurance because we are living in it for a short time and it is under 4 large trees, we where suppose to be out of there two weeks ago. Thinks could have turn out worse.
The location of the limb in respect to the campers position was hanging over all three cars parked in front of the camper, the wind twisted the limb at a 90degree angle then snaped right over the front of the camper, if it had came straight down it would have landed all three vehicles.

Glad to hear that everyone is okay.
Wade, I hope you can get the trailer liveable for the next two weeks. Considering what has happened, maybe they will try and move things a little faster on your house.
Good luck to you.

With 50+ days of 100º+ heat (several 110º+) and little or no rainfall, I haven't had to cut grass either!

Adjuster was out yesterday to look at the damage from Irene, with out the camper at the shop with real hard numbers, his guess is about $7,000 worth of damage , NADA shows that the camper is worth about $10 to $13,000 bucks......Again and again I will know for sure in about two to three weeks when we move out of it and it go's to the shop.

Up Date With Insurance............
As of 10-01-11 the 2006 Rockwood 8314ss is going to salvage. Spent yesterday in the rain removing all of our stuff out of the rig.
The insurance company came back for a second look on Friday and said the damages were too close but the camper was repairable, after i had expressed concerns with items like mold and what repairs i may have to make over time with this kind of exposure to the hard and driving rain from Hurrican Irene they decided to salvage the camper, it has been 5 weeks since the hurrican and i noticed brown stuff leaking from the skylite into the tub while we were removing our items i have bad feelings about this, once i turn the keys in to the shop today Rving is over for use for now but we still have the cabin in Hershey.....Make sure your camper is insured....

Wade, that's too bad about the tt, but I'm glad they took care of you. I would have the same concerns if I were in your position.
Years ago when the tt I had at the time was beat up by hail, the adjuster came out and wrote me a check on the spot. The final repair bill was almost double! My insurance company did cover the difference, but had they came up with the final figure to begin with they may have totaled the tt.
Good luck to you and enjoy your time in your cabin.
Are you decorating for Halloween this year? If so, post some pics.

You were very lucky to not get more damages. Mother nature sometimes can be very dangerous. Have a look at a few pictures of our campground when the 1998 ice storm struck. SEVERAL TRAILERS WERE COMPLETELY DESTROYED BEYONG REPAIR.

NO It happened in winter while the trailrers were in storage in the campground. Electricity was cut for severals days because many trees fell over the electrical wires. I am including a few more pictures.

According to the BBC, the remnants of Irene are about to clobber norhern England and Scotland. The border area will have 40+ mph winds and temps in the mid 50s while the south coast is still in the high 70s and low 80s.

I am sorry on the date we had the ice storm. It was in 1989 and not 1998.
