I am back, FINALLY!

I have been on hiatus, and kinda going through withdraws, since May when I started a major remodel and addition to our house. We added on a 36X38 addition, a 16X20 chuck was taken for part of the master bed & bath. I also tore out about 500 sqft of the existing house down to bare framing (which included both bedrooms and the bathroom), moved walls and redid everything. I also put in new windows/doors, soffit/fascia, roof and siding to the whole house.

I did literally all the work by myself (framing, hanging/taping/finishing drywall, interior trim, roofing, siding, tiling floors and master shower, wood floor, siding, soffits, windows, garage doors/openers) other than setting the trusses and tearing off the shingles on the existing house (I had friends help with that), and I had sub contractors do the concrete, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and insulating.

Other than some caulking outside, mudding the sheetrock in the garage then painting, then project is done!! I wish that it wouldn't have taken so long but there were numerous things that came up that took time away from working on it. In May my wife had to go to China for 3 weeks for work, in June we did one 3 day weekend camping trip (to spend time with the DW and DD) I left my job of 12.5 yrs as a carpenter for a custom home builder and started working for the public works dept for the town I grew up and still live in. In August my DW talked me into 2 more camping weekends (which I really needed), in October I was gone for 9 days for schooling and testing to become a WI DNR certified water plant operator (which I passed), then in November my DW left for China for another 3 weeks for work.

Now after 8 months I can finally sit back and enjoy our "new" house. And start spending more quality time with my family, in February we are going to Disney World for 10 days. Oh yea, also have to start making the payments to the bank...

But now that I have time to spend on FRF again I can't wait to get back in to things. Right now we have 11 nights booked for 2015 and I have a couple of mods in mind for our TT once spring rolls around.

We just finished a three month remodel of our downstairs bath. Remodel is a four letter word in my book. My reward, winterize the pipes and go on the road.

Did the addition include a garage for the TT? 😃. Glad to hear it's done and the DW was kind enough to get you out for some stress relieving camping during. Best of luck with the new job, house and free time
