I can fix this

So, this year we have a crappy site at Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach, SC. I made this reservation last Nov. and we are not on a concrete pad and are way in the back of the campground. I do realize it is Spring Break week and the place is full.
Today I went to the CG office and booked a concrete pad site 3 spaces back from the ocean for next year. The reservation is for 14 nights. There are just way too many RVer's these days.

You aren’t kidding.
Last year we didn’t book our spring special till March and there were the snow of open sites.
This year we called in January to book and the site we wanted was booked and there was only one spot left with 2 adjacent sites. The bad thing is that most of the bookings are for 1 weekend the free weekend they give to vets. They got overloaded after a few of the other grounds started asking for deposits for the free weekends because too many people were no shows and they were turning people away because of the bookings

We go to Myrtle Beach only in winter. Still quite a few tourists there, but plenty of room at the mega-campgrounds like Ocean Lakes and Myrtle Beach Travel Park.

We were here for New Years. Snow, ice, overnight lows in the 20's and daytime in the 40's. We will do a better job of watching the weather forecast next year. Click image for larger version

Having spent the late winter at SoCal beaches, you'll have reserve sites way ahead, even if off season.

Dang...that is just depressing! That looks just like my truck...except mine wouldn't have icicles hanging from it in Texas. (Actually, they were hanging from the carport this year...it was cold this year!)

Yeah, we woke up to snow in MB one February, but often we've enjoyed temps near the 70s in winter. You never know. As long as seafood restaurants are open, I'm ok.
