I think the groundhog was wrong!

For the past 2 days I've heard a couple of birds chirping. The temps have only been hitting the mid 20's at best and the next couple of days will be very cold. When I start to hear the birds chirping I can't help but think that spring is on the way sooner than expected. I hope warmer weather is on the way soon. We are starting our camping season Easter weekend at Locust Lake State Park in PA. There looks to be about 8" of ice covering the lake right now. It's hard to get the kayaks out on the lake with those conditions. That weekend is also the opening weekend for trout and I don't have ice fishing equipment. Last year was cold over the Easter weekend but not to the point of having ice on the lake.

Can't wait to start camping. We already have around 20 days booked. Come on warmer weather.

Hey, we hold all Pennsylvanians responsible for "Phil". I think his little brain was frozen and got confused on the six more weeks thing.

How can you trust anything that is afraid of their own shadow?

Amen...we have spring/camping fever bad!

It got warm here a few weeks ago so we had plans to take Rocky down to New Mexico (warmer nights than Colorado) but then a few days before a cold front blew down and lows were to be in the 20's down there....rats!!

So we're doing what we always do in Feb/March....tinkering and making upgrades. (My new Rock Tamers for the Tundra came in yesterday so I'll be installing them this week.) I'm, also, putting together my emergency road kit.

I need to get my propane tanks and take them down to get refilled before the season starts, too.

Wiarton Willie called for an early spring for Canada. Maybe the cold air will leave and go back north.

20 here at 2pm in the afternoon, supposed to go to a low of -4 tonight.
Snow on the ground and more lousy weather on the way this weekend.

Was hoping to camp last weekend but it was too cold.

This was not well thought out......

What was I thinking???DWand I
Left central Florida last Friday to visit grandkids north of Atlanta. Home in Kentucky was only 5 hours away. "Let's run home for a few days since we have not been there in two months." ...15" of snow here in 3 days, tonight -3F, Thursday night -11F , 9-10 mph winds will add to the - factor. BBBRRRR. It is beautiful here now, but living a few miles out of town leaves me 300 yards of drive to clear on my own, just to get to the road........now we hope to be able to get out on Friday and head back to the RV in Florida and STAY until mid April. We love retirement. What was I thinking???

Our local groundhog "Grady" saw his shadow and we're about to have our coldest weather in a decade.

I hear he's been put in witness protection.

Here in Southwest Virginia, it is currently 12 degrees, but predicted to hit between -10 and -15 tonight without taking into account, the wind chill!

We are in THE SOUTH!! This isn't supposed to be, here!! Schools have been closed all week, including tomorrow, so I guess this is our "spring break"!

Everybody stay safe and warm

Hey, all you folks up North need to come South. We're in Knoxville, TN, average low is 33 F. this time of year. The temp. right now is 15 F, predicted to go to -5 F tonight, -13 F. tomorrow night. We had an ice storm Monday and a snow storm today. It looks like the schools are going to be off all week.

This extreme cold snap is supposed to be from some air coming over from Siberia. It's supposed to be -50 over there. Maybe they are trying to restart the cold war!

They can keep the cold air over there. No hard feelings here if they choose not to share.

I hope no one is planning on a camping trip to the Boston area any time soon. They may have snow until Aug with as much as they have. And we are complaining about a foot of snow and cold weather. I'll take this over 100" + of snow.
