I wish just once when the local TV station interviews people in the middle of winter & the the majority of of the "interviewees" whine about the cold, that they would return to those same people in the middle of a heat wave & ask them if it was hot enough for them?

Emptypockets says those same people would probably complain about how hot it was.

It is 102.6 degrees right now in the shade of my front porch. Even though I hate hot weather, I hate cold weather even worse. Even working out in the heat until about 11a this morning, I still stand by my motto: "I would rather mow grass than shovel snow any day of the week."

I still remember this:

I don't complain too much when it's HOT. I work in it all day wearing FRC(fire retardant clothing). After 14 years in the refinery, I've learned how to cool off.
The winter months down here are nice. We are able to camp year round. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

I like the heat. I'll take it any day of the week compared to the snow the northerners have to deal with.

DRY heat in Arizona

Here in Arizona we do get a little warm a fews days as high as 115 degrees.
But it is dry heat.

We don't complain out here on the praries when it hits +35 and we also don't complain when it hits -35 in the winter. That is life we chose to live here and deal with it accordingly. Heated pool foor the summer and lots of cuddling with the wife in the winter. Although we have to hope for a balance of rain and heat to help out the farming community in the summer or all of North America pays at the grocery store when the crops are bad

This is why we own a trailer so we can head out of town before we melt.

I love all the seasons but can't take being out in the heat or cold when they are extreme. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else but with our camper we can sure visit other places to change the atmosphere.

We have the four seasons, but this year has been one of extremes. 2 blizzards within 2 weeks dumping more than 20 inches of snow each time and now the summer heat with more days over 100 degrees than I ever remember and over 30 days in the 90's. Spring time was very nice. Hopefully the fall will be nice. In the meantime we're enjoying the 85 degree pool water each day.

I agree about this being an extreme year. It was a very long COLD winter here and is a summer like you are having. We are going on vacation as we have reservations and hope we can enjoy our time outside with all the heat.

My sentiments exactly!

My parents never thought of going to Florida once. Just deal w/ the snow. Usually they'd take a trip south in April when everything had turned to mud in Apsley.
