Ignoring Forums
Sorry if this is the wrong place, but I couldn't find a forum help sub-forum.
How does one ignore a forum or sub-forum?

Don't think one can ignore them! I ignore you when I get a notification you've replied to my post by deleting the email, never to be seen again!
Just zapped your latest post. Bwahahaha

Considering that there is a list of forums one has ignored, I assume that there is a way to put a forum on there. For example, since I have a TT, I don't need to see threads from Motorhomes in my unread list.
BTW, I use the app.

It would seem to me that many questions about MH's would pertain to a TT as well. I think you may be missing out on a lot of good info. I just log on to "newest post" and read what I want. Sometimes I know the question doesn't pertain to anything I have, but the knowledge gained there may be able to be applied elsewhere. I know how to block you or anyone else, but not and entire sub-forum. If there's a way, I'm sure someone will be able to tell you.

Considering that there are hundreds of new posts to trip through each day, I must filter somehow. Eliminating entire subforums would be a big help.

I just click on the ones that interest me and ignore (don't click on) the ones that don't. Solves that problem for me.

I look at it this way, we all have the same sub systems. Now some on here have been RVing for a very long time and are a wealth of knowledge from tts to DPs. Some things are just for a basic brand RV, them I skip sometimes unless its one of systems. Don't pass up a chance to get a very good tip. By the first,or second post you can tell if it pertains to yours or not. Just my thoughts!

As ForestWalker correctly pointed out, a member can add whole forums and threads to their ignore list, so they won't show to the member. It's up to each individual, and what they seek, as to what customizations they want to do with the forums "ignore" functions.
The easy way is to log in to the full site of the forums.
1. If you want to ignore a whole forum and it's subthreads, then go to the forum and select the FORUM tools dropdown box near the top, then click on the "ignore forum" option
2. If you want to just ignore a thread, then go to the thread, select the THREAD tools dropdown box, then click on the "ignore thread" option
If you decide later that you don't want to ignore either the forums or threads you may have previously selected, then you need to go to your "user cp". On the left hand side of options in the cp, scroll down near the bottom, and you will see your ignore manager, which once you click on, will let you deselect the things you no longer wish to ignore.

There are only 2 or 3 manufacturers of appliances, awnings, water pumps, water heaters, furnaces and air conditioners for RV's. Whether it's a pop-up, truck camper, TT or motorhome the pretty much use the same "sub-systems".

As others have stated, there is a lot of commonality in the problems and solutions presented ... many components and practices are applicable across the product lines etc etc blah blah ....
Plus ... we like scoring those $25 and $50 Visa Gift cards that they mail out from time to time, for people who read the posts ...
But certainly can understand, watching all the different posts go by takes up some bandwidth.

That said ... could maybe kick a request up to the software team, add a button or menu choice for "HELP" across one of those two top green bars, and have it steer to the link you just shared. Maybe not perfect, but a lot of people go looking at the top and bottom for a "HELP" button.
And of course, a nod to the site team for thier work and putting up with ... all that running a forum entails.

To those who have told me about the forum tools, it just isn't showing up.
To those who are trying valiantly to get me to want to read dozens of other forums, yes, I am ignoring your suggestion. I peruse the forum via the "unread" button in the app. This produces 100s of threads of which maybe 6 interest me. So, thanks, but no thanks.
I really want to ignore some forums. That's it.

AHA! Some forums have a second green banner. The button is on the second green banner!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I thought I was going nuts! Well, I am, but that's another thread.

This is working really well. I am getting far fewer threads to skip. Spending less time and reading more.
Unfortunately, the thread count yielded by the "unread" button is sketchy.

Wish I would have known this when I signed up here. Would have saved me a ton of $$ on mods and "Oh, I gotta get one!'s"
