Rust showing on any metal parts/frame. I can't find a build date on any of the paperwork. Oh, and the quality . . . it must have been built on a Friday afternoon. Already warranty issues that dealer is trying to get resolved with Forest River. I feel like I just took a gut punch on this trailer. Have not made the first payment yet and I'm wishing some would take it off my hands. I don't feel like I got a new trailer.
In Feb 2010 I ordered the unit you see in our signature. It was delivered from the factory 1st of May 2010 & yes it is called a 2011 on the title but like yours there were some changes made that mine doesn't have.

For those who aren’t aware, March is the model year change-over month for most fifth wheel and trailer manufacturers, and not just Forest River. Late summer is when many major changes on models will occur. In other words, the majority of 2016’s are built in 2015.

In my case we took delivery of our 2013 Silverback at the end of March 2012. Soon after that my floorplan was discontinued. If you look on the NADA website for a 2013 Silverback 29RL you ain’t gonna find one. I have one of the very few.

Back in early 2007 we bought a 2008 Wildcat RKBS. Later in 2007 Wildcat made major changes to the front cap design of the Wildcat line and made other changes to the RKBS on the inside. You can find 2008 Wildcats of the same floorplan that look totally different both outside and inside.

It has been like this in the RV industry for years.

It's not just FR. We have noticed two significant differences in 2016 Montanas in the model we ordered. In the newest 2016 model, it has a front window rather than a solid cap, and an articulated hinge bath door rather than one on regular side hinges. As of just yesterday, I noticed one dealership advertising the same model 2016 without both of those features.

I ordered my 2016 Forester 2501TS in April 2015 with trims I chose and took delivery of it in July. So far I'm really happy with it.

Unlike the auto industry, RV's have their major changes mid calendar year. Then at calendar year they release the next year with only slight changes. Maybe fits the shows better.

Did you do an PDI before taking delivery? It sounds like the paperwork lists it as a 2016 but that there are differences in the model than expected leading you to think maybe you got a 2015 unit instead. I think you got a unit that had some of the changes but not all which is not uncommon from my understanding.

Once you get this figured out you should get out camping and start enjoying your RV! But in the meantime I can relate...

My Coachmen was ordered in July 2015. It wasn't going to make it on time for when I needed it so the factory gave me one that was already on the assembly line and customized it to what I wanted. The one that I got was an updated floor plan (still a 2015) and came off the assembly line BEFORE my original ordered 2015 (old floor plan) was built.

It is crazy how the RV industry does things.

I'm glad I got the newer one.. there were many positive changes (all interior LED lights, decor had 4 color choices instead of 1 for the leather couches to match the valance/blinds etc.

Don't loose sleep over this. There were three of the same model we purchased on the dealers lot when we picked ours. All three had small differences beyond color and options. Ours even had a couple of issues the other two did not but it had the options we wanted. I just have to deal with it. Ours 2016 was built in Nov. 2015, no big deal.
As with all my campers the first thing I did was hose off the frame, wire brush any loose rust/paint and put about 8 cans of undercoating on it. High visibility chassis areas got wiped down with acetone and a few coats good spray paint. Steps get truck bed coating.
Doing this when new goes a long way. Our last trailer was 10 years old and had not rust on the frame or steps.

My '16 was built and delivered in May last year. I see the new model 27VRL being delivered with 15" tires and rims, mine has 14"

Maybe he found someone to take it off his hands. Or just so distressed with buyers remorse.

There must be something major wrong with it because the minor changes they do between years would not make me so distraught to not like it. Maybe he bought it unseen off Internet and just had delivered to his house. Just bought off Internet pics.

I ordered my 2016 after looking at another 2016 on a lot and there were changes . Some things my dealer should have told me, somethings I thought I didn't need when I actually did and the dealer was not as informed as I thought he would be hit all in all I am still happy with my choice. Things such as I deleted outdoor kitchen thinking it was only a fridge and cabinets to find out later it was also the grill. I ended up having to order the grill later. Opted out of the washer dryer connection since I will never need it and one less thing to winterize. Decided no need for ceiling fan and once I saw the minor added cost thought maybe should have gotten the fan. I did get the residential fridge still unsure if that was good or bad since it does not have LP backup and unsure how long it will stay cold if there is a power outage at our seasonal site and we are not there even with inverter and with 2 marine deep cycle batteries. I didn't go to the RV show this year because it will always leave you wanting more. The other really odd item that changed was the one on the lot had the full sized tablet for controlling lights, slides, jacks, and awning where the unit I got only has the iPod size controller. Heritage Glen sales manager told me they went back to the smaller controller because the larger tablet size was having to many issues. Not sure if I'm happy with that yet or not.
