inflatable kayak

I have look at lot of options of carrying a Kayak while traveling with 5er but don’t see any I really like. As an alternative I was look at inflatable kayak. I found some the cheaper ones in stock and didn’t like the looks of them and the quality of construction. Amazon has some nice ones but can’t find any in stock locally. Has anyone own or used an Advanced Elements AE1012-R or any from Advanced Elements kayaks. The get great reviews on Amazon.

If you're going to consider that much money, you might want to take a look at the Oru:

Hard shell kayaks only for me in Florida. Inflatable Kayaks are gator chew toys.

I saw one of those at campgrounds. First, you’re talking to someone that has trouble folding up a street up. Also, the clamps take some strength to clip and I in the early stages of arthritis in my hands and having to assemble two them would be more than my hands could handle. There really made for less than 6-foot person and with less old age settling in the mid section.

I scuba dive and cave dive in the Florida springs and yet to run into one. I not sure how I would react if come out cave and one had planted himself in the cave entrance that I would have to swim by to get out.

Inflatable canoes are the perfect option. I did a bunch of research and finally chose the Sea Eagle se370 Pro from Sea Eagle Sport Kayaks | Sea Eagle 330 Sea Eagle 370 | Inflatable Boats for Less ($280 cheapest anywhere) and after many trips to Florida lakes and Rivers testing it we found it to be the perfect canoe for our trips. Very good quality and one of if not the best selling canoes of its type. There are 4 of us so we just bought a second one ready for out upcoming trip to the Keys. Alligators don't like canoes and I have never worried about them. You have more chance getting run over in the campground that being bit by a gator but we still camp

We carry out kayaks on a roof rack on the truck. Our kayaks are ten feet long and have zero clearance issues.

You heard about the 2 attacks in Florida waters this year didn't you. One lost an arm in Wekiva River & the other killed at Blue Springs.

We have an Advanced Elements 1-2 person kayak. We have had it about 11months and have used it in 5 states, rivers and lakes. It takes us less than 15 minutes for set up or take down. The quaility is great and we love it!

Not out of canoes. Swimming and hanging around at the waters edge is where there you can get into most trouble down here with gators. Plus you can canoe all over the US and Canada with no Gators. Lets talk about the canoes which is where this thread started. If you want to discus Gators and camping I for one would love to here everyone's experiences in a new thread about Gators

I bought the Sevylor River XK2 about seven years ago and use it every summer. I've never had any problems with it. I can pack it up small in its own carry bag, inflates in a few minutes and has about five separate air cells. This model is big enough for the wife and I or I can take it out alone.

We had a Sea Eagle SE 370 for many years and loved it. It would fold up nicely and was easy to transport. After getting caught in some good wind storms and feeling like I was trying to paddle a brick uphill...we decided to get a couple of 10' Old Town's. They now reside on the roof rack and there's plenty of room between them and the front cap.
