I have not seen any answer to this issue. What is it with the Financial and Insurance Companies that want to know if your full time or not. How does it effect and is the cost higher if you are fulltime?

full time is higher rate, as there is a higher chance of having a claim if you spend 365 days a year in something as opposed to 20-30 days a year in something. Also, you tend to drive more as a full times, generally speaking and that increases liability too.
