Insurance cost

Hey guys. I have been trying to get an estimate of what insurance would cost on a travel trailer. Every time I go for an estimate, the insurance site require a thousand questions. I will be buying the Rockwood 2608bsd ($28,000 or so) around June of 2019. Does any body have an estimate of the insurance cost? I am trying to budget and I need all expenses associated with the Travel Trailer.

call your agent in person. every time I call mine they ask me 1000 different questions because of all the different manufactures and rv lines available. prices could very greatly based on where you live. I pay about $400 a year for a large 5th wheel.

My 20k trailer is insured by Progressive for about 200 bucks. It is new.

Hi Willie, I'm an agent in Michigan and the cost will depend on the state you are in. Your agent is the best source for a rate. I insure my 5er on my auto policy and for $29K of coverage it's $152 per yr for both comprehensive and collision coverage. That's all you should need for a TT. Hope that helps.

Oops, just checked, I paid 238 bucks, not 200. 500 dollar vanishing deductible.

I just insured my TT for $44/yr comp/collision through AAA. $500/ded. Your cost may vary.

Very difficult to compare policies and prices. EXACTLY what you are insuring varies greatly from policy to policy. It is not as simple as comprehensive and/or collision. Just an example, your tolerance for deductible size.

Of course you are right, insurance costs vary. Just for grins, I got a quote from Progressive for the same coverage, it was $283/yr. I don't know why AAA was so cheap except I've been insured with them for 50 years with no claims (except windshields) for decades. My little Surveyor is new but isn't worth much in regards to risk to the insurance company. The TV carries the expensive premiums of liability and uninsured motorist.
