Interesting neighbor

Had my first rough time backing into a spot over 4th of July. Same spot we have had not trouble with before but (of course) wuth a large number of people watching we had to jockey a few times and had one near 90 degree moment. I tried to not let it get to me even though there was an older couple next door watching the whole time with a ringside seat.

The couple was very nice throughout our stay that weekend and at the end of the trip, the gentleman came over and we started talking. Come to find out, he was retired but had been the manager of the very same state campground we were at since 1962. He had actually laid out the roads and the campsites. He mentioned during the conversation he had made some mistakes, such as not angling the campsites to ease backing in. I realized later that as he was looking on, he wasn't thinking about my own shortcomings as a driver but is own mistakes made decades ago.

Just thought it was interesting.

Great story and it just shows that some of us get better with age. Happy Trails!
