Invasion of the Geo Pro
I don’t know if it’s just me or the area I am in, but it sure seems like the Geo Pro is a super-popular travel trailer. I am seeing more and more of them every day — it seems like it is the travel trailer that everybody is buying right now.
Did Forest River nail it on this RV? Why are they so popular?

I'm guessing the name itself is appealing to Millennials.

But do you agree that they seem to be appearing everywhere lately?

We bought one a year ago. In our case it was the trailer that slept 4 (16BH), fit on a slab next to the driveway and had a full dry bathroom.
In our first year of travels we saw one other model at an RV park. More sightings each season I’m sure.

I am not a millennial nor does the name attract me.
I bought an E-Pro due to all the features within the size and weight, and price.

Catalina's are the popular one in this area. You can't hardly swing a dead cat and not hit a Catalina in the CG's around here
On the other hand, Avengers like we have are rare... have only seen 2 "in the wild" so far.

When we were shopping last September, yes the Geo was the hottest thing since sliced bread, they could not keep them in stock, nor would the move much on price. So we did the bait and switch to a 2109S.

I've been seeing more and more Grand Designs in my area in the past couple of years.

I got the Geo Pro instead of the A-frame pop up because:
1) It was not much heavier than the pop up, and no risk of roof raising failure or leaks. The more moving parts, the more likely something will fail. Also did not get slides for this reason. No set up/breakdown time other than the stabilizers.
2)Height seemed lower than a traditional TT, less wind drag
3)The jaunty look of the off road package appealed to my macho side
4)It offered all the amenities you could need in a TT, right from the factory
5)We had a good salesman. But he doesn't return calls now that the sale is complete.
6)I thought I would be able to tow mine with a mid sized SUV we were about to buy. Glad I got on this forum before I made that foolish mistake.

Yes I have seen a lot more. In what I've seen, it's been mostly younger generation. My son and wife almost bought one. 30ish

In my local area in Nebraska, there is a dealer that re-badges FR Cherokee with their brand..."PATRIOT" and you go to our local CG's and it seems like a 4 to 1 ratio of the PATRIOT to other brands. They have a deal with FR and these sell at a low price.

We bought our E-Pro in the fall and have taken it out several times. We're in our early 60's and bought it because of the ease of towing, set up and breakdown. Had everything we were looking for. Our last camping trip we saw four other E-Pro's. We're in middle Tennessee.

We bought ours last year, 17RK, as I saw one here in town being pulled by a Cadillac SRX and we had been looking for a TT for our '13 Acadia to pull. Found one dealer in town that sold them and bought one. We were told single axle and the light weight of it was perfect for our Acadia. We love it.

Geo Pro
For us (19fd) it was all about features; Murphy bed, full sized dry bath, solar and no slide out for boon docking... seemed a solid build, and we really liked the bleached interior, feels like a modern beach house. As NJKris knows I probably should have done a bit more homework on tongue weight (first TT), but no harm no foul, our old GX 470 does a great job of towing and we just added an Andersen WDH.

The Geo/E Pro trailers have been marketed quite well. They are aimed at those who want a small trailer, packed with amenities and are capable of off road usage. They have numerous electronic features and lots of versatility. They are supposed to be be aimed at those who have mid-sized SUVs and trucks.
My only issue with them is, just like the 1/2 towable 5th wheel marketing, is single axle trailers will have heavier tongue weights than a comparable tandem axle trailer.
So owners will find quite often, that the loaded tongue weight will exceed their vehicle's max hitch weight.

Amen: Newbies like us are particularly venerable... and forums like this are great, IF you get involved prior to purchase. Very pleased with the purchase however and not one issue to date.

I also forgot to mention the price tag: Out the door, taxes/title/reg, $20,000. Just the right size for 2 people. I am 54 and can justify the cost. I don't plan on upsizing, hoping we get 20 years out of this trailer. By then, I'll probably be too old to want to drag it around anymore. And yes, I love the pickle grey interior. Wife wants to do one of our bathrooms at home over to look like it she likes that beachy look so much.
