Our cheapest diesel is $3.69 up to $3.93. Welcome to CA. The voters have decided.

A few years ago... Glenn Beck had a former CEO of Exxon on his show... he said the reason diesel was higher than gas was... They make less on gas per Gal or whatever measurement you want than diesel to help "offset" the price of gasoline to keep the "average consumer" happy. This is from memory.

On my way there (CA) in a few weeks...already shopping for fuel stops on my way. When there I have a convenient Costco where I fill up, usually better than others in that area.

Diesel is dropping along with gas. I've seen it here, we're back under $3/gal for diesel. The diesel trend isn't as much as gas, but it is dropping.

US price trends echo this as well. From eia.gov, see attached gas/diesel trends for the US since Jan 1, 2018.

That's true here too, sometimes the profit margins on regular gasoline are even negative, especially for gas stations owned by the big players. I believe the idea is to lure customers into the store or kiosk to buy overpriced chocolate bars and pop or a jug of wiper fluid for $8 to make up for the loss.

About 3.02 - 3.11 here near Greensboro.. Regular is about 2.57 ish. That being said Im DEFINITLEY seeing a mileage gain with this cummins over the Hemi 6.4, and the torque is just effortless, Dont mind paying a few more cents a gallon for fuel.

If you are coming by way of AZ fuel in AZ. Savings could be $0.50 yo $0.80 per gallon. Don't know about NV and OR.

Thanks,

I plan on a fuel stop at I10 AZ MM 1 Flying J before I cross the state line, and camping in Blythe for the night.

After that, I'm at the mercy of the voters in CA for a month or two...

That is a good fuel stop. They have RV lanes on the West side that will give you plenty of room. After you cross the river take notice of the fuel prices! I've seen it as much as $1.00/gal higher in Blythe. I buy all my diesel in AZ. My Jeep doesn't have the range to make it from AZ to CA and back to AZ. Oh well.

Two key phrases to keep in mind:
1. "Supply and demand" - notice the acronym SAD
2. "Whatever the market will bear" - oil conglomerates, unless I missed it, are in this to make money for themselves and their investors. Nuff said.

Here in Indiana I've paid $3.25 - $3.29. Glad to hear it's cheaper on our route south...

$2.89/gal is typical here in east central Illinois today. It was up to $3/gal a week or two ago.

diesel prices

Here it is $2.88 per gallon, but it will rise as the season gets colder and they start putting in the anti-jel. The diesel is shipped to Europe and we, the public, who uses diesel will subsidize Europe diesel.

There have been additional pollution tax placed on diesel, which will not be removed. Thanks Obummer. My Mercedes will never "roll coal" !!

With our new cabin and acreage, the TT may be going bye-bye next spring. If it does, I'm trading back to a 2500HD Gas.
