When I look at camping in the winter in Texas, I think it is better to be here. If you are here in July, August and September, we live with pure humid heat it is hot. I now have 2 AC units and will see how much better it is.
We still have 3 more trips for this year plus Christmas week.

Here's out site in Key West.

My vacation is almost done. I will be in Greenville in November for 3 days at a model glider contest, and come January, my sons and I will be in Oklahoma trout fishing. Probably in late February, too... It's much nicer down here in winter. The parks are open but no one's there. Camping down here in summer is too hot and too many people.

We go nearly every February to MB Travel Park. Some years it's warm, some years below freezing. One year we had snow. Never a problem, and we love the fact that most of the crowds are gone. Oh, and it's ALWAYS windy.

Wow that Key West site looks awesome. My wife and I were married there 15 yrs ago. Never thought of going there with the toyhauler but after seeing your pic it is going to be a must! Maybe an anniversary trip will be in order.

As for our season it ended last weekend as the door to the storage building closed. It was a sad moment. Fortunately we snowmobile in the winter so we're still able to enjoy the outdoors. We'll be ready for spring I'm sure.

In north Louisiana we camp year round. Fall and winter are best. Easier to stay warm than cool. Good campfire weather too.

Just starting our season here in Florida. We are off to chilly St Augustine on Saturday. Forecast is for a high of 62. low of 44. DW is bringing the electric blanket. We Floridians have thin blood.

We go to OL every year around the end of December. Weather is usually not to bad as long as the sun is out. One year our hose froze over night. Kids spend a lot of time at the indoor pool, arcade, skate park and basketball courts. They have even gone into the ocean a few times but not for long due to water temps. I just like taking walks on the beach when there aren't a million people there.

Headed to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia tomorrow morning for our last trip of the season. We'll get there just in time for this front to hit. We'll probably visit the Luray Caverns Saturday as it will no doubt be much nicer underground than above ground with rain/possible light snow, wind, and pretty cool in the forecast. That's ok, it all clears out quickly and we'll have a beautiful Sunday to hit the Skyline Drive and then a nice day to drive home on Monday. A rainy day camping is better than a sunny day at home any time!

Been done for a couple weeks already. Used for 41 night this season, I'm happy with that.

May be done for the year. 15 trips, 47 nights. If the rumor of our local state park keeping one loop open this winter for dry camping (has electric) is true, then we will sure pray for some decent weather weekends.

Hiya Bob,

Didn't see your PM invite until yesterday, while we were camping over at Poverty Point. Sorry we missed the big Halloween trip. We carried a ton of candy and NO ONE trick or treated there.

Done for the season? heck no! Like Bob (we're practically neighbors) we try to keep it going year 'round. We have LOTS of state parks/lakes within an hour's drive so it's easy to grab a weekend here and there.

Just did a three day trip at Poverty Point. Just got home: Sneak backed in, dropped the landing gear, unhitched, did a splash and dash and headed to the CC for a golf tournament.

I had a serious physical challenge right after getting back from TN in August, been under the weather for a bit, but I'm doing much better, back in the camping saddle again, just have to be careful.

We are done and have battened the hatch. Then again our year never got started. Our old frail dog isn't up to camping any more but keeps hanging on. Non animal lovers will call us crazy but we can't bear the thought of leaving him behind. We only got away for one quick trip this whole year. Sigh. But there will be lots of time to hit the road once he's gone so we will make the best of the time he has left.
