Rblake39 we are happy with our Columbus F375RL. As with all RV products, little things get missed at the factory or jiggle loose on the road. Easy fixes. All the important parts function perfectly. We are full timers so we are using everything daily. The cabinetry in the Columbus is very nice hickory, hidden hinges, dove tailed. All nice but a loose screw did turn up. I tightened it... Our bathroom is bigger than some houses, twin sinks and a full size shower. Important. No particle board hiding under the bed or anywhere else I've looked. Nice plywood like you would use at home. I could go on. I won't. Just know the pros beat the cons in the Columbus.

I go to a lot of plants on a pretty regularly. The speed of the line is usually dictated by orders. There are a few sites around that rate trailers based on customer satisfaction. Suprisingly there are a number of stick and tin units that top the list. Palomino being one of them. But I agree with most and you should get the one that you want. They are all trailers that go bouncing down the road. They're all going to have little bugs. That's just part of the deal.

I'd say if the Columbus is the one you liked then look for one else ware as you will not be happy with a different choice. Later RJD

Columbus along with several other FR brands are going through some growing pains. I understand that Columbus will be moving (or already have moved) out from under the Palomino brand which may mean a significant change in floor plan offerings.

For what it's worth...take your time making your choice...both in the rv and dealer. Both could have lasting effects on the long term quality of ownership. Good luck
Actually Sabre moved out from under Palomino. They are making a newer mid end Columbus Compass as we saw during Goshen this year. The Rockwood Management is handling Palomino now.

For us. We looked at both Cedar Creek and Columbus. We are settled on Columbus 325 RL. The outdoor kitchen is a must have as well bed on slide to allow east access around both sides. As far as QC Columbus has applied Rockwood/Flagstaff management ad QC practices to the Palomino factory floor. We also have a trailer that is a bit lighter as well. Has a RV Style refrigerator that runs on propane/ electric. Many things just fit with the Columbus.
I believe Turbs was looking for a outdoor kitchen as well.

I would find a dealer that wants to meet your needs. The old bait and switch scenario rings true here.

Forgot to mention. Gotta be a mid bunk. Going to be full time and it's the only floor plan that makes sense for us.

Sounds like in your post you answered your own question. You described one in a positive and one more negative. I drove over 7 hours twice for my new rig because it was one I liked. One time to see it and walk through and one to pick it up. No dealer close to me had that trailer. Someone carries the one you want. Salesmen will tell you anything to get a sale. It's a big investment to have regrets once you get it home. Just my opinion.

I notices that most of the CC have dry pin weight of 1900 or more. The only warning I would have is mine Crusader had 1950 dry pin weight and I added 1380 lbs of cargo and when I put it on the scales it was with 125 lbs of being over my Axle weights and 780 lbs over the 3/4 ton diesel trucks cargo capacity. Now i have seen several other Primetime 5er go from 19% or less dry pin weight to 22% to 24% pin weights. I know this one not a Primetime but it is Forest River product.
