Big Wil, that's the spirit
Where are you booked? By you pic, you've done this before, any tips for a new winter camper? Other than have shovel ready

Honestly, it's not bad at all. We tend to keep the trailer dry, so we don't have to rewinterize. The campground we are going to has heated comfort stations with real toilets, showers, etc, so we simply don't fill up with water on the way in.

Bring dry firewood, as the evening fire becomes way more important: it keeps you warm as opposed to just giving some ambiance and a heat source for roasted marshmallows.

Bring warm clothes, preferably in layers. This allows you to strip down one or two without freezing or getting sweaty. Getting sweaty makes you get cold faster. Bring good footwear, and preferably an extra set...I usually wear boots, for obvious reasons.

Be prepared for a lot of peace and quiet...campgrounds tend to be pretty much empty when the weather gets colder.

Our trailer, the FE 248RBS has an excellent furnace, and it won't be much below freezing when we go (-3 to -10 Celsius, or 14-26 Fahrenheit), so we will be very comfortable inside. Outside, it's dressing warm and, around the fire, adding some very expensive antifreeze to our blood stream that will make it very enjoyable.

Not good at all.

Hopefully not too much damage to the trailer.

I'm surprised to see that collapse from what looks like only a foot of snow on the roof.

I regularly see loads on my carport (I do not store my trailer under it) and those of others in our area, with way more snow on the roof with no problems. Maybe our region requires them to be built with heavier pipe and bracing?

With all the storms that we have been having here in the northeast, my biggest fear is camper damage with a very special and very expensive trip coming in just 4 short weeks. While I know the insurance would cover any damages, not having the camper available for the trip would be quite bad considering all the time and money that's been invested that is non-refundable.

Spring for us was exactly two days. Monday it hit 73 and Tuesday AM it was 65 until Noon. By 4 PM it was back in the upper 40's and raining. Looks like it's going to rain for quite some time.

Don't mind the rain if it would just warm a little. Can at least sit out under the awning and enjoy the fresh, clean, air.

Thanks, I've already bought lots of that antifreeze
