Is there an Ultra lite 5th wheel??

Just dreaming......
I love my truck buy my wife is dreaming of a slightly
larger trailer.
She's talking 5th wheel because we really don't want to
tow anything larger than what we have now on the
bumper.
Any new trailer is gonna have to be light or we're talking
new truck too.
I can't afford to stimulate the economy that much right
now....

So is there a such thing as an ultra lite 5er??

The closest thing Forest River has would be the Flagstaff/Rockwood line. I will link the specification site for Flagstaff. Rockwoods will be very close if not the same. Scroll all the way to the bottom for the 5th wheels.

I've seen several Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite 5ers in the central Ontario area.

Light weight is desirable, but light pin weight is what you need most. Our Rockwood 8280ws has a pin weight of 1240 lbs loaded, which is 15% of it's total loaded weight of 8300 lbs. As its a rear kitchen layout, the unloaded and loaded pin weight remains at the same 15%. I couldn't increase the pin weight significantly outside of putting cement blocks in the basement. It tows just fine at that pin weight...no chucking.

Most likely, a 5er pin weight will put you over the trucks GVWR. In my opinion, as long as you're under the trucks RAWR, you're good to go. Don't know what your axle ratio is, but you'd want at least 3.73 or even 4.10.
