Island Kitchen trash container

I have a 2016 Crusader Lite 28RL with Center island ...There is a shelf under sink and no room for garbage container...has anyone removed the shelf to allow for more room...do you think the shelf might provide rigidity for the island? Any other suggestions for garbage under the sink?

We have a Crusader 315RST and have the same question. We were able to fit a rather small trash container under the shelf in the island but would like to see some other ideas.

We also have a crusader 315 but the wife bought a stainless trash can with lid we put in the end of the island near pantry door. It looks nice and works for us. I guess we were spoiled as our last Rv we had a open full size can that would fit under the kitchen sink and be hidden behind a door.

Trash container

Well I did it....cut the shelf (about 10" X 12") on the right side...used the cross support piece to support the other side shelf where I cut it out....Had another 1" X1" piece that I cut a slot for the now left shelf and used this to strengthen the left shelf. seems now as strong as the original and I have space for trash container that I can use when opening the right door

Our kitchen island has the doors on the other side- not the sink side. I haven't decided if this is any better or not. But I can fit a medium sized trash can in there...
