Post It's the same SAME in US and Canada!

Hey ya'll...

As the original self appointed weather radio sherrif of this here forum...
I am somewhat bashful about admitting that I just figured this out a few days ago helping a Canadian fulltimer (on rv.net) with a question about SAME weather radios.

As it turns out, the SAME is the same SAME we use here, up there. It's the SAME same thing! Only the locator codes are slightly different. The radios are compatable. Cool.

For info on the Canadian system...

http://www.msc.ec.gc.ca/msb/weatheradio/

There's even a page on where to buy your weather radio.

And on the US system...

http://www.weather.gov/nwr/

On both sites you have to dig down and navagate around a bit.

By the way, Oregon Scientific has a recall on four of their radios, and the US link above has the details.

What? You got no SAME weather radio? You in a heap o' trouble now, boy! You trying to get yourself killed, or what??

Unhappy RV vs Tornado, RV loses...again

Quote from newspaper artilce...

The Gulfstream Coach facility had extensive damage including overturrned RV's in Nappanee today...The storm also wrecked parts of three recreation vehicle plants — Fairmont Homes, Gulf Stream Coach and Franklin Coach — that are among the city’s largest employers.

The storm ripped the roof from a Gulf Stream Coach factory on the city’s east side and flipped over dozens of recreational vehicles parked outside.

“Those units are just everywhere,” Mayor Larry Thompson said. “Upside down, piled on top of each other. There is a lot of damage.

“We just have a lot of people hugging each other and thanking God that we’re alive.”
