I've Been Told To Stay Out of Camping World

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/16/marc...-business.html

Although he's waaaay wealthier than I am, it still blows my mind when companies and their executives come out publicly on political or social issues. I have my opinions but when it comes to my own business, I do all I can to keep my mouth neutral.

he isn't discussing politics, he is discussing the ceo telling customers if you don't agree with him to shop elsewhere. I agree if I owned a business I wouldn't discuss my political beliefs with anyone.

Who you vote for is your own business, I have shopped at lot at Camping World, as a matter of fact my current camper was purchased at Camping World. They can forget me, I won't shop there again. All the junk they are sending me is history.

Wrong set of rules Roberte52,

"General discussions of politics, general government policies, weaponry, gun rights and religion are not allowed in ANY areas of the forum. Discussions about current or pending legislation or regulations, weapons and religion that directly pertain to RVing are acceptable but will be closed or removed if they wander off topic or become disruptive."

I made my mind up to stay out of CW long before this. There are few businesses I despise and that is one of them.

The last time I was in Camping World I almost choked at the prices they were asking. I do not see the value in their products as they are cheaper else where.

Also Good Sam is owned by Camping World so they are off my list also.

I don't shop at Camping World because of the lousy service my daughter and sil are getting on their new trailer. It shouldn't take all summer to get a few warranty issues taken care of. It's too bad that it has to be that way because CW is only 10 minutes away from home. I do my business at Cold Springs RV, a family owned business that is 45 minutes from home.

marcus don't own the whole company.. he is their face and mouth.

I am a 'Life Member'... is that a good deal to have... heck no.
stuff is way over priced, mostly junk, service work is shoddy and over priced.

I buy stuff there when I don't want to 'hunt' else where. and then toss it later when I get better quality product.
Would I recommend people to 'deal' with CW... heck no.

This is not about politics... this is about their over priced junk and service.

We should make a point to stay out of Camping World. It's these kind of statements that make people divided.

I just sent an email to CW stating that I will no longer be doing business with them and will not be renewing my GoodSams Club in the future. No harsh words, no foul language, just stated my intent.

I like Camping World and enjoy shopping there. Have had some repairs done at several around the Southwest and have had always had great service and outcome. As far as prices, I wait for sales on stuff I want if I can't find it cheaper elsewhere. You can find junk in any store, but I would never say everything in any store is junk.

I don't care who owns it or what their politics are. If that sort of thing bothered me, I'm afraid it would be hard to shop anywhere.

But y'all go ahead and remain angry, it is as amusing as US politics.

Thanks for the heads up. They just bought out Tom Raper RV here near Cincinnati, and I won't be stepping foot in there now. The CEO is a fool - My politics shouldn't matter to him as long as my money is green, but if he feels otherwise, that's just fine with me.

I plan too. I can spend my money anywhere and I choose not to spend my money at Camping World. Politics should stay out of business. You can make a personal statement but you don't have to tell people that don't believe as you do to stay out your business.
