I've gone and done it!

Well after careful consideration and many weeks of research, I've gone and done it!

Maria and I purchased a new trailer. We will pick up our new 2015 Rockwood 2604WS on Friday.

After the Amana gathering when the weather was "less than cooperative" we realized that if it were not for Mr & Mrs Youroo letting us hang out in their palatial estate, we would have been pretty stuffed in our Mini Lite with 2 dogs.

We have been fortunate to have pretty good weather on most of our trips over the past 2 years and even when raining, been able to sit outside and enjoy our trip. For those that did not make Amana, it was gale force winds and temps barely above freezing. Sitting around outside was not an option!

Now Maria will be able to sleep in and I can still get up and do my thing.

Pics will follow after we get her home. Looking forward to many great nights camping this summer.

The cub will not work but I have contacted Hensley and they are giving me a fair trade in on the full size arrow hitch. We got it in late last week. I will have to send the cub back to Hensley.

The dealer (Tom Raper) has been really good so far. I must admit, two years ago when we bought our first trailer, they were less than impressive. I don't know if things have changed or we just got a good salesman this time but the whole experience has been a good one. We are having a couple more upgrades done (like replacing that plastic dometic 300 toilet with something that will take my big butt) that I am paying for. They are going to remove my old hitch and install the new Hensley at no charge.

You should have seen the guy's face when I told him that I was keeping my current mattress and they could put the new one in the trade in. He kept saying "but this is a really nice serta mattress, much better than what you got with your mini lite." I told him, don't worry I know what I'm doing.

This morning, I have to get all our stuff out the old trailer so I can take it to them on Friday! All I can say is "BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!"

Congratulations on your new 2604WS! We are in the market for one. We love most aspects of this floor plan. Looked at a Keystone Bullet that has a large bathroom and more kitchen storage, but feel that the Rockwood or comparable Flagstaff have better finishes. Looking at the Emerald package. The unit we want looks just like yours, but we prefer the lighter hickory cabinets. We too want the privacy that the mid-layout bathroom affords. I often stay up later than my husband and will be able to watch TV without disturbing him. Likewise, he gets up around 4:30 in the morning and I like to sleep later. He also likes the chairs in the rear living area, although they are not that comfortable. We will most likely get roomier chairs from IKEA. Light weight but more comfy. We are planning on attending the Tampa RV Show this weekend and hope to see models that we can compare. Hopefully "the one" will be there. We don't really want to order one, as they don't come off the MSRP as much. Have fun camping!!!

We had a 2012 Rockwood like yours except no wardrobe slide. Dee needed more storage as we planned to FT soon, so got a new Flagstaff 27 but same basic layout. Enjoy! and Good luck! Lacy

Thanks everyone, we have been real happy with our Flagstaff and wanted to stay with Flagstaff/Rockwood.

Yes Gary, Maria and I will be working the Frog booth at the Dayton Show some on Sat & Sun. We will head home after the dinner. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

I just read the other day that Tom Raper is being bought by Camping World. Perhaps that's why things are different at the dealership?

Yeah I asked the saleman about Camping World buy out. He said that they did not have a lot of info on how the buy out was going to affect them.

I think alot of our experience was from the saleman. He is an older gentleman that has been with Tom Raper for 14 years as a second career. I think he really just enjoys his job.

Congratulations Indymule
We have the exact model on order - the only difference is the Willow interior. Big step up from our 23 SS hybrid. Bet you can't wait to go camping again. Is there snow there? Ours won't be in until spring and we won't be able to get it into the yard until then anyway. Sounds like you attend rallies. I'd like to try that some day.
