All I can say is we use the same TP that we use at home with no issues to date. (Since 1986 in 4 different RVs). Its kind of like I never understand why an RVer coming into a campsite feel they have to hook their sewer line up when they first get in (I do understand if they come in with full tanks) whether it is daytime, midnight, or raining.

I like to hook everything up B4 the slides go out. Less to bump my head against.

One other option-- don't put TP down your RV potty at all. It's easy to
fold/wrap with clean TP and drop in a wastebasket. Line the wastebasket
with "recycled" plastic grocery bags from WallyWorld. Once daily empty the
bag at the campground dumpster. You need an after supper stroll around
the CG anyway!!
This learned from years of houseboating where marine toilets do NOT like
paper of any kind.
Also- on a side note- last trip we arrived at our destination and found that
an entire roll of TP had un-rolled onto the floor due to the bouncing!
It's IMPOSSIBLE to get that much back on the roll and have it look
any sort of normal

I agree; lots of water.
I'd also like to know if "myredracer" used the same amount of water for each test jar. I noticed they were not all the same size, so that leads me to wonder if the test was controlled.
We don't put any in the tanks..... all goes in the trash...
Just the engineer in me...... sorry....

Thats easy for us at least, do all the outside first then all the inside stuff. Makes it much easier to ensure everything is done. No that being said if we are only starying one nite most times we only hook up power as we only use the toilet for the #1 jobs anyway and never use the shower.

Unless really late or raining dh likes to hook it all up when we get there so he doesn't have to worry about it later.

Say What! I'll defer on this method when the day comes I can't get a black tank on my camper!
FYI...install a rubber band around your roll of TP, voila, no more unrolling

Yeah, but doing that requires removal of the roll to place the rubber band.
Might as well just remove it and place in the sink or somewhere close
until we arrive.

None of our TP goes into the tank. We use mostly unscented diaper wipes for true wiping. Yes it's wally world plastic bags lining the trash can next to the toilet, yet it gets emptied about once a day (there are 5 of us). Here is the surprising part - doesn't smell. I do not detect an odor and I'm the one with the super sensitive nose who notices everything. Also interestingly, even with extended time between dumping, the black tank with no treatment doesn't develop an odor. I'm wondering if there is some action of the black tank sewage on the paper that contributes to odor! The unscented diaper wipes do a better job of cleaning as well, but obviously those should never be flushed.

Kirkland for me. If I run out I use what ever T/P that is available at the time. I have been RVing for years with no black tank problem, (other than guage working half the time). No putting used T/P in a waist backet for me. (When I am tent camping - tent trailer - I use wet wipes and then straight to the fire place).
PS. Use enough T/P so that it does'nt tear in the middle of a wipe.

We also use Kirkland TP and have never had a problem except when one of our kids friends decided to put a paper towel down the toilet!

We have the same problem at home. We used to buy the Kleenex paper "Guest" towels in the slanty box for the guest loo, and the towels kept disappearing, and not showing up in the trash! 2+2=Uh-oh! Now they have to make do with the hand towel.
It costs too much to have the septic system pumped due to someone's negligence or lack of knowledge.

Those Kleenex towels are nice. If I were your guest, you'd be missing more than we're in the trash because I stuck some in my pocket to take home!
