King Jack Installation Question
We are thinking about replacing our factory crank-up TV antenna with a King Jack OA8501 antenna. Does anyone know if the King Jack installation requires enlargement of the roof hole on a 2016 Forest River Flagstaff Shamrock 19? If so, what is the best way to cut the roof? A jigsaw?

Skip that King/Jack and just get the King/Jack Batwing replacement head.
No hole cutting and works much better than the new omni-directional unit.
Only takes five minutes to swap and it's around $50!
Best upgrade I ever made!

Ditto on the antenna.
Also get the strength meter.

Thanks! We took your advice and ordered the replacement head and signal strength meter.

With just replacing the head, does the signal meter need an extra cable ran? Or does it use the existing wiring?

You can attach it at any jack inside the RV. In my 5er, I attached to jack that was next to antenna, tuned, then disconnected it.

1) Use existing wire.
2) I used the existing power amplifier, not the one with the King Jack.
3)Meter goes between antenna and television.

Same here...
All you need to do is to hook up the coax from the old batwing and aim it.
I also bought a signal finder from Camping World...

No problemo!
And...don't forget to rescan the TV!
In my yard in Denver I went from around 40 channels with the batwing to over 80 channels with that King/Jack.
And in the mountains I got stations with it where the batwing never got any...
It's that good!
