Ladder

Does anyone see an attached ladder as a wortwhile investment or are they more of a flimsy thing and that an extension ladder is a better option. How much does anyone need to get up top while camping? For washing and waxing and service at home seems like the extension ladder I have in the garage should suffice.

Ladder

I use my attached ladder all the time. I do not have slide toppers so go up on roof just before we leave and sweep them off. Also have a portable dish satellite that I set up on roof to discourage the morally challenged.

I would never drill holes .....and you have no idea were to find a support for bolts...
Use that: Generic EN131 Std. 12.5Ft Aluminum Telescopic Tel escoping Ladder Extension Exte nd Loft - Telescoping Attic Ladder - Amazon.com

Loefflerh that is a great point about more holes to the exterior. On the supports side I would have dealer install it. But am leaning on not spending the extra couple of hundred right now.

To get on the roof, there is no better way than using an attached ladder.

I use my ladder to transport the pen for my dogs. I've also used it to get up and install the MaxxAir vent covers.
Now that I've had a couple on rv's, I wouldn't be without one.
