Lake George, RV park - NY

Thinking about enjoying a week or at least a long weekend in July in the Adirondacks and notice an advertisement for the Lake George RV Resort. Does anyone who has camped there have any special camping sites they enjoyed?

We have just returned from Lake George and stayed at Moose Hillock . The sites are very large and private . The pool has two water slides and is large . When you are in your site you cannot see into the next site . It's only about 2 years olds and the staff members are very friendly . MooseHillock. Good luck .

Rick - We've stayed at Lake George RV park, but never at Moose Hillock. LGRVP is very nice, I don't think they have any real bad sites, but some at the end of the rows are pretty short. Tons of activities for kids there's a bike trail and a trolley to town or the outlet malls. Moose Hillock is a little further away. The last few trips to Lake George we've stayed at Alpine Lake and really like it there. If you get the right spot you'll be backed up against the lake. Not as much organized stuff as LGRVP, but we don't have kids.

Last year we stayed at Moose Hillock. We loved it. Big sites and lots of privacy. They have shaded sites and sunny sites. BIG heated pool with slides. And you can walk into the pool. It's has a ramp like walking into the water at the beach! Give them a call they will help you out on a site. We are going back this July for 10 nights. We took a tour thru Lake George RV park. Nice place but not for me to many real tall pine trees you are under. Have fun which ever park you pick! Check out The Docksiders restaurant Glen Lake, 298 Glen lake Road, Lake George. Right on the lake and prices are not bad and food is good. You can sit outside and enjoy the view!

I will keep the Docksiders restaurant in mind when visiting, I'm going to check into Alpine Lake a little further their website makes the place look inviting - like the looks of the lakeside sites. Thanks everyone for the information.

We prefer the East side at Lake George RV Park. It's quieter then the the main area, and you are a close walk to the evening entertainment. We have seen a Magician and Ventriloquist, that were cruise ship quality entertainers and a few others that were not at that level.
The other area I would stay in is Woodlawn Dr (top of the map), as again, it's a quieter area. It's is a very nice park, that offers many amenities. If you have the time while in the area, check out the Painted Pony Rodeo.

Moose Hillock for sure! We have a seasonal at the New Hampshire one and have been going there for 10 years. Visited the NY one last summer and it was very nice also. Happy Camping!

Moose Hillock is AMAZING! The sites are huge and very private. We have only been camping for a year, but we do try to go a new place once every month. It is hands down the best we've been to so far.
