Lancaster area

Anyone recommend a camp ground in Lancaster, PA for a travel trailer and close to shopping? Thanks

Old Mill Stream is about as close as you can get to the shopping outlets.

Country Acres is in Paradise PA and is close to Lancaster and Bird in hand. Both of which offer tons of shopping. Located on Rt 30 there are lots of shops all around the area. There is also Beacon hill small c\g but very clean and nice within walking distance to a large area of shops. Beacon hill is an adult park so it is very quiet.

Spring gulch is ten minutes from Intercourse and close to everything Amish. It's a great campground as well.

It is actually called Lake in Wood. I'm not criticizing you, but trying to make it easier for the OP to search. It really is a stupid name.

My seasonal spot for my Windjammer is at Spring Gulch. I checked out all of the other campgrounds mentioned here and more. Of all of the places in Lancaster County, Spring Gulch was the best for us. Lake in Wood is very nice, however the sites are small and not very private. It is also about twenty minutes farther away from all of the tourist stuff.

Agree with the Beacon Hill post. Amish wagon visits to sell baked goods.

We enjoy Country Haven. It is 5 miles from Intercourse but the address is New Holland.

No pool, few kids and very quiet as they do not tolerate barking dogs. Sites overlook farmland and a small Amish bakery is open Friday and Saturday mornings across the street. Great fresh donuts.

Probably about 15 minutes to shopping outlets.

We enjoyed Country Haven. It is considered New Holland but is located off rt 340 about 5 miles east of Intercourse.

The are few amenities here and not many activities so very few kids. They have strict rules concerning dogs so it is very quiet.

Most sites overlook Amish farmland and there is an Amish farm across the street that sells fresh homemade donuts every Friday and Saturday morning.

Its probably about 15 minutes from the shopping outlets.

We are returning there next week.

I never could understand the attraction of Country Haven. It's nothing but a field half way down a hill. If you like a little shade this is not the place for you, but if you have a satellite dish atop your rig, you can finally be guaranteed a place to get a signal.

Sorry for the double post.

Country Haven has both wooded and open sites. We like the oepn because of the view.

To us the main attraction is peace and quiet. While I like dogs, we have an issue with neighbors dogs outside 24/7 barking day and night. While we are away we just dont want to hear them.

Yep. We stayed there this summer and we too recommend it. Enjoyed buying from the Amish kids on the wagon.

I live in the center of all the campgrounds mentioned. Lake in Woods is 5 min. from my home. Quite expensive, small sites and very strict. I personally like White Oak Campground in Quarryville. It is just outside the Village of Strasburg and Strasburg Railroad, Railroad museum of Pa. Choo-Choo barn. It is a quiet campground with a brand new pool. Another great campground is on Rt 30 Country Acres, this is a very clean park with large sites. They have sites both wooded and in the open. If I can be of assistance ,just let me know.

Just curious, how is lake in wood strict?

They have lots and lots of rules and video cameras everywhere to make sure everybody is in compliance. It's not necessarily a bad thing.
