Learned that rain and acorns are loud in a TT
Went camping this past weekend and it started raining early on Saturday morning. It was loud and therefore hard to sleep. Step outside and it was just a light rain. It sounded much worse in the trailer.
Add to that the constant dropping of tiny acorns which sounded like rocks hitting the roof. I don't see how something so small can make so much noise.
But it was all good, we were out camping and enjoying the fall weather. We got a good hike in on Sunday morning before heading home.

Yep. I would trade those sounds any day over tires screeching, horns honking, vehicles whizzing by, sirens and stereos blaring.
Sounds like you have it all in perspective.

You think acorns are noisy, you should be under a Hickory or Black Walnut tree when the squirrels start cutting them. Now that's loud.

Y'all think a rubber roof travel trailer is bad, try an aluminum roof like was on my Trailmanor.

X2
I do miss my TrailManor from time to time though.
Installing slide toppers made a lot of difference for me on my current Flagstaff. The head of my bed is in a slideout, and the rain coming down on the slideout roof right over my head when raining made quite the noise before I put the slide toppers on.

Pine cones being deliberately thrown at the roof by squirrels are pretty loud, too. Our Class C had an aluminum roof. We stood and watched the squirrels throwing. They weren't just knocking the cones off the branches!
Our current rig has a rubber one, so it's only loud when they hit the a/c units. We don't park under pine trees if we can avoid it.

You must have been parked in those squirrels party spot.
You do that down here in swamp country and they will cut your tires.

Lol. I have a Hickory tree in my front yard. Them dang squirrels throw nuts and shells all the time.
I think they do it on purpose at the cat...if the cat is wandering around the tree and the squirrels have babies then it gets worse.

Yep, you are correct Bob. When the 1st one hits, you think something is coming through the roof. Just experienced the Hickory Nuts the past week.

You think falling acorns are noisy. We have a couple a 60'+/- palm trees near us. They have been neglected for years. When we get a good wind, the dead, dried out palm fans, and their limbs break off and land on our TT. I have already put the park on notice just in case I loose a sky light or vent cover.

All these falling objects are amazingly loud. My dogs are scared to death of the acorns hitting the roof. Our rear slides is a metal roof so it is particularly loud there.

A branch fell off off a tree on a windy night on one of our first trips out in our new 5'r. Woke us both out of a dead sleep. Actually it scared the ___ out of us...
The next morning I climbed on roof ladder and was shocked at how small the branch was that made such a loud noise.
We still miss the sound of the rain on our Sun Valley Pop up, just something soothing about it.
