Leaving soon

Yes!!! If all goes well we will be leaving Monday for a three to four week ramble to eastern Canada and return via the northeastern U.S.. We are really looking forward to it but the downside is even though we will take the laptop, I will only be able to view the forum when wi-fi is available. I anticipate a little catch up when we get home but that's okay since DW says this seems to be one of my favourite things to do anyway. See you later. Old Guys

Second day out and we have set up at a KOA just outside Quebec City. Great place, really clean, staff very friendly (as has been everyone we have encountered so far). Gas prices from 99.3 to 105.2/liter or about 4.00 cdn. to 4.25 cdn /U.S. gal. About normal for here. Drove around the old walled city tonight but tomorrow we will take a shuttle in and do a walking tour and try to soak up a bit of culture. Only trailer problem so far is we lost the exhaust vent from the water heater door while we were driving. Don't know how that happened but if that is all we have to worry about we will be quite happy as we still have a long way to go. See ya next time we can pick up some wi-fi. Till then.....Happy camping.......Old Guys

p.s. temp. 32C--- humidex 41C or 89.6 F---105.8F Now that's too warm.

We made it to Prince Edward Island after a really nice trip around the Gaspe Peninsula of Quebec. Lucky to find camping just over the Confederation bridge at a nice little campgroud called Sun and Shade as the central island area was very busy with a Taylor Swift concert Saturday and Regis and Kelly in to tape 4 shows Mon. and Tues.. There was also a big country music festival and the Atlantic Nationals car show on at the same time. We stayed long enough to do 3 scenic routes on the island, enjoy a lobster supper, meet some great people and have a good time. Then on we went to Nova Scotia where we began with a tour of the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island. Breathtaking scenery and camping at $27 plus tax (with hydro and water) 33 with sewer hookup. Tomorrow it is Fortress Louisburg, which we are really looking forward to and the next day it is on to more N.S. Hopefully we will get to see Peggys Cove and a few other places before we leave here. Good trailering so far and we hope it stays that way. Till next time..... have fun and happy camping. Old Guys

P.S. The bridge is a toll bridge as is the ferry. It is free to get in but you pay to get out and the bridge is always cheaper.

Hi,
Glad to hear you are having a good trip. We really love the east coast (Canada and the States). Our daughter lives in Massachussets so that is a good excuse to visit there every couple of years. Flying at the moment. Hope to take a trip there with our RV when DW retires. Let us know some of the parks where you stay.

Thumbs up

Your trip sounds like the trip my family took in '75 w/ our 1st truck. Oshawa to Montmagny Quebec & on to NB, PEI, then over to Cape Breton, Halifax & Peggy's Cove. Back thru the States to Watertown, NY.

Rumford Maine was my 1st experience as a 13 year old w/ a paper mill town (yuck) & ships as big as the MV John Hamilton Gray & MV Abegweit ferries.
