LED Awning Lighting - Installed to short

We decided to give our awing led lighting a try and it didn't come on. It was installed new at Forest River when they made the trailer. Come to discover it was not connected and the connection is too far from the end of the led strip. Has anyone had to take the strip down and move it before without hurting the light strip? It seems to be in a track right under where the awning rolls up for travel. I have watched the installation video for the kits but they have two sided tape on them so not the same thing.

The LED awning lights on my trailer are on a Carefree of Colorado awning. I just figured the awnings came to FR with the light strip already installed, but I could be wrong. Just a guess. Maybe the service dept at your dealer could give you an idea about how to move the strip over enough to connect it.
