Here in GA, annual tag fee is $12 BUT when you first register your new/used camper, DMV charges a percentage of the value of your camper...thus your first registration fee will be $200 or more...sounds like AL may work the same way ;(

They charge a percentage of the value, even after you have paid sales tax? or doesnt GA have sales tax?

My 1st trip to the DMV in PA will cost me over a $1000 because I bought it in Ohio and never paid any taxes yet.

But after the initial paying of taxes and titling and registation. it will cost $60 every 5 years.

Yes, after sales tax, you pay % of value when first registering...then $12/year for renewal...that's how they roll here in the Peachy State

It's used as a supplement for our State worker pension fund so they all can afford a beach condo in FL, paid in cash! :O

I paid $75.00 in Virginia, that's for as long as I own it. No yearly renewal in Virginia. I guess every State is going to get what they can......

We paid state sales tax (6% I believe) and no local sales tax when we bought our fifth wheel, but we then had to pay an annual registration, and we pay that each year. In Texas...I think it's right around $130 a year for our Columbus 320RS.

On the sales tax, we traded in a 2005 Sandpiper and got a good trade in - and Texas only charges sales tax on the DIFFERENCE between the purchase price and trade-in.

I just bought a 2014 Wildwood and as part of the closing We paid $66 for licence plus $14.50 for Road and Bridge fee, plus State inspection fee $14.50. Total $95. Of course there was sales tax of $813 based on the difference from our trade in. We also live in Texas. On my old TT the Lic. renewal was $80.
