I got locked out of the Rv a few days ago when one of the dogs hit the doorlock when I stepped outside. Fortunately I was camping in my driveway. I got a severe outbreak of moths breeding in my home, a log cabin. They were creeping me out and I was grateful I have my rv to sleep in. Luckily I had a spare key inside the house to open the door.

We keep a spare key in a lock box near the propane tank on our Sunseeker !!!
We also cover the door lock buttons with SNUS cans taped over the lock buttons,,, if we are out with our little dog inside !!! It is very easy for her to stand up on the armrest and lock the doors !!!

Got it open. As mentioned, it took a little lube and light tapping and whatever was hanging up the works let go. The key operates properly now, it just has a slight hitch when you insert the key, needing a little wiggke to get through.

Happy i didn't have to get more 'invasive' with it.

Darn Tim, 2017 has not been good to you!

Take a nap and leave a wake-up call for 2018.

Oh. I dunno. I'm still alive, married, and employed. My kids are healthy and doing good. My dog still comes when I call her. On the whole, I'd say I'm still winning.

Last summer we had some screws come loose in the door handle/lock. Deadbolt was fastened. No way the key would work.

With me pushing, DH tried to get through one of the openings underneath, but was getting hung up on his cargo shorts. I told him to drop his pants and go again.

He made it! I missed getting a good photo. I do have one of just his feet in socks hanging out...

He had to take the door handle/lock apart from the inside.

The tap meathod works great, and actually it's a great way to get into locks that you don't even have the right key for. Go on YouTube and put Bump Key into the search. You'll be amazed if you haven't heard of this. I've tried it and it works great.
