Long trip=camper wish list

In the middle of our fist long trip(long trip defined as 10+ days) I have come to the realization we need the following in our next camper:

Outdoor Kitchen
Larger bathroom
Larger holding tanks
More storage
Separate room for the kids
Larger fridge
More power outlets
A new cummins dodge!

Yeah...if the RV Bug has bitten you bad, just skip the 3/4T and get the 1T Dually Diesel (and with kids, maybe opt for a Mega-Cab.)

FR has some really nice Bunkhouse models as well

Maybe you should go back to doing short trips... I hear the RV bug rarely tags along to those...

Like mine there are 5th wheels out there that have two separate black tanks and a bunkhouse. Double the pleasure! Separate the kids and extra holdings....

No wind on driving days and a slight breeze on camping days.

I've got those first two, but not third.

We made our list too after a long trip. Our new trailer covered about the entire list. Still don't have a comfortable upholstered chair. Not going to happen with our length restrictions. Oh well...we bought a fold up sling type chair that is pretty good, just not permanent. I've got in the back of my mind that we might pull the dinette benches out and put two recliners. Scared to mention that to my wife.

Outdoor Kitchen

I have a portable propane two burner stove. I also have 3 propane grills.

Larger bathroom

During the day we use anything else that is available. DW has titanium knees so she can do whatever she pleases.

Larger holding tanks

Yup

More storage

When we had the TT my crew cab 2500HD had enough bed space to make up the difference. Like George Carlin said, you can never have too much stuff. Now with the Solera MH I have more exterior storage space than I have weight capacity. Storage is not just space. It is also a weight issue.

Separate room for the kids

Around 8 or so you can stick them in a tent until they are old enough that they don't want to be seen with you in public anymore.

Larger fridge

I keep all cold drinks on ice. For the cold beverage of my choice ice works better than the fridge.

More power outlets

I don't use any so I can't help you with that one.

Long trip=camper wish list

Truth be told our current trailer has exceeded our expectations in every way. I'm glad I did my homework when we purchased. It's a true camper. The dinette creeks and the. Awning stinks to high heavens but it's our little home on wheels. One of the biggest things I have realized is once the shades are closed and the door is shut my kids consider this home while we are on the road no matter where you are. Everyone sleeps great and wakes up with a new attitude each day. Overnight in a farmers field in Athens Alabama tonight. Perfect 1/2 way point. Miss the sand and pool already. Oh and this whole rv fridge thing is awesome....taking home 10lbs of shrimp and a lot of crab.
