looking for a place to camp between Cincinnati and Lexington

We are looking for somewhere to camp between Cincinnati and Lexington along I75. Anyone have a good campground to recommend? How is Big Bone Lick to get on 75 south when we leave?

Why not try the http://http://www.kyhorsepark.com/vi...khp-campground It is a great place, beautiful, not far off the interstate on a good road and just north of Lexington. It's within easy drive-in to get food, entertainment in Lexington. It's ONLY drawback is that it doesn't have sewer, but there are 2 dump stations on the exit road. Otherwise, it's a great place. In the summer, there's not enough shade in some sites, but I have AC in my RV for a reason. Tripadvisor has lots of reviews, so check them out, but also, note that you need to throw out the best ones and the worst ones and you can get a pretty good feel of the place.

Thanks I was looking at that one. We are just stopping for the night on the way to Red Top Mountain, so the sewer won't be a deal breaker for us. I will check out the reviews.

We are staying at Big Bone Lick on Friday April 1. Drove by there for several years for work.

Our favorite is Whispering Hills in Georgetown. Take exit 129 to rte25. The north exit to Rogers Gap road is not good for RVs

We stayed at Big Bone Lick State Park last year, it's a nice park, would recommend it. Some sites are a bit challenging to get level on but worth the trouble.

Whispering Hills in Georgetown as listed above. Might be a better option. You can always stop at walmart, Lowes or Cracker Barrel.

I will second the vote for Whispering Hills RV Park which is just north of Georgetown Ky. Very nice park and the staff was very helpful. So nice and unique restaurants in town.

I live in the area. If you are just looking for a quick stop over I'd find somewhere else, perhaps the Georgetown of Horse Park locations previously mentioned. It is a neat park, but the sites are not very good, most are quite unlevel and it is a little ways off the interstate.

I can provide more info if you'd like.

Is Horse Park a quick set up for the night as far as fairly level? We hope to be early enough to walk around and get the extra energy run out of our 5 year old.
