Looking for an Campground around LEGOLand FL

Hello all -

Looking to take the family down to Legoland, FL next Christmas. Any recommendations around there? Would prefer to be along the coast if at all possible. We'll drive up to an hour or so to get over to Legoland if needed. Dont want to be in the Orlando area, too close to WDW and we go there yearly. If we were that close we would be inclined to go there as well!

Was looking in the Tampa area so we could get their city pass and see the local attractions.

Full hookups not needed. Water/Electric Are needed. State Parks preferred, we have had great luck at FL State Parks in the past. Would prefer Not to be just stacked in someplace like a parking lot. Have 3 young boys and want to let them run and explore if possible.

Thanks!

We found two decent parks up near Orlando but would prefer the coasts and a bit south!

We stayed at Hillsborough River State Park last time we went. It's about 40 min away but we prefer St. parks instead of the typical "parking lot" style of RV parks that are around the Winter Haven/Lakeland area.

On the east coast I suggest Manatee Hammock County Park in Titusville. We go there when we visit my sister on Merritt Island. It's an easy 80 mile trip inland from there on FL528 and FL 417 and not much traffic to deal with. Also, it's located across the Indian River from the Kennedy Space Center if you are interested in going there.
If the Gulf coast is your choice, be prepared to deal with heavy traffic most of the time unless you stay somewhere east of Tampa.
