Stopped in at a place called Race City Golf Carts in Mooresville, NC on Saturday to look around and see what they have they are exclusively a Club Cart Dealer. I did see some some very nice carts and price tags to match in particular my Wife and I like this lifted Club Cart Onward. I believe it was right around 10K

I have Lobster taste and a bologna budget

The cricket probably get two people from point A to point B ok. There are a couple crickets in our park. But with two people riding them they look like an elephant riding an ant. In saying that I’m not criticizing the size of the people in the cart.

If you want something just to move around the park and easy to transport they probably OK. Kinda like riding a moped to me. Fun to ride but don’t want to be seen riding one !

It does feel rather precarious sometimes, but it beats the heck out of carrying and loading/unloading two mobility scooters for my parents or finding room for a full size golf cart. We regularly ride with 3 adults plus my saddle and other riding stuff at horse shows and have never had an issue with hills, etc.

Are there times I'd rather have our full sized one? Yes. Does it get us from point A to point B? Yes!
The Cricket can also get through doors a full sized one cant since it fits (tightly but it fits) through an ADA complaint door if you take the handles off. There are Pros and Cons, but overall I'll take my Cricket.

Cricket is a good all around vehicle to use most any where and batteries charge runs a long time. I love mine but I got the smaller version due to just DW and I. Little less money also. Later RJD

X2 on the Cricket! We like our Cricket SV3. I like the flexibility of 4 seater or cargo area. Fits nicely in our Toad (Jeep Liberty).Click image for larger version

We have a Yamaha drive. Just got it in December, 2012 model, gas engine. We love it. I wanted gas and I trust Yamaha gas engines. If we were doing electric, I would have done Yamaha or club car.

We paid $4400

Just be aware many campgrounds do not allow gas carts. But if you only go to campgrounds that do great.

Yep, sorry, should have mentioned that we don't take ours camping, our small town is golf cart approved, so, we can drive from our house to downtown area restaurants, bars, parks, etc.

OK, I've been following this thread, and now you all have me thinking about getting a toy hauler!

We have a 2018 Yamaha Drive 2, and it is a piece of work. With the new fuel injection I use about half of the fuel that we had with an earlier model.

We don't take this camping (yet). We actually use ours for GOLF and a few other things .

It's the main reason I bought a toyhauler. Many of the State and National parks have camp stores that are significant distances away from many of the campsites and loops. If we are camping 7-14 days, there are times we need an ice run or maybe something from the camp store that we don't want to fire up the truck and go get. Plus in the larger campgrounds, we often like to take a ride through all the loops and admire campers or setups of others. Sometimes it pack everything on the cart and drive down to the boat ramp picnic area, to a favorite fishing spot or the lakes beach area or pool.

While we like a good after dinner walk with the pooches, a Golf Cart extends our reach and makes taking things with us easier if it's a half day activity at one of the above.

Besides that, the flexibility of what we can take with a TH vs. a TT is a huge benefit. If it's a large group thing, I can haul the big grill from the house vs. trying to keep up with my weber 220. Makes cooking for 10+ a lot less time consuming and more fun for the chef.

Maybe this story will help someone: A guy pulled in a site across from me with a nice custom Duke University golf cart in the truck bed. Both trailer and golf cart looked brand new, so I think this was a first time for him.

After unhooking the trailer, he lowered his tailgate and placed two narrow metal ramps on it so he could back the cart off. When he tried to back off, both of the ramps fell to the ground with a clatter, leaving the rear frame of the cart resting heavily on the tailgate and the rear tires hanging off.

Despite being a UNC grad, I ran over to see if I could help with the Duke disaster. He got his wife to climb into the cart and try to drive forward while he and I lifted and pushed. She floorboarded the cart, the rear tires finally got traction on the end of the tailgate, and she slammed into the back of the truck bed. But at least the cart was back where it started.

By this time, the guy was truly PO'd. So I didn't even try to initiate some friendly banter about Duke and UNC. Not the right place or time. So I later saw him drive down to a sloped area where the tailgate would open and rest on the ground, allowing him to drive it off without ramps.

And that is why I like my Cricket. Fits back of pick up so one can close the tail gate and the ramps are specially made for it. Later RJD

I've had a toy hauler and now I have conventional travel trailer. I haul either my RZR 900 or my golf cart in the bed of My truck depending on my destination. I leave my tailgate at home and strap my toy into the bed of my truck with wheel bonnets. When loading and unloading it is imperative that the ramps be wide enough and fastened to the truck in such a way that there is no way the ramps can slip off the bed. When unloading it's usually possible to find a spot where I can just roll the cart back off the truck without even starting it. The RZR is actually easier to load because it doesn't catch the frame on the bed. My cart is not lifted the rear seat footrest catches on the ground. I'm thinking about lifting the cart for that reason. For now I bring two sets of ramps and use them together to lessen the angle of the ramps. The main ramps are curved and rated for about 1500 lbs so they are strong enough for the RZR. Second set are rated for 1100. Plenty for the cart.
