I was only trying to point out that while slides are great for giving you more room, they can be inconvenient if you absolutely must open them to get any use from your RV.

If you are a worrier, I would be more concerned when, not if, your Dometic A/C is going to conk out
To each his own but I would never buy an RV without slides. With 3 fur babies and sometimes two grand kids it would not work.

Our slide is only 20" deep. So far, knock on wood, it has worked every time. It makes a loud noise as it slides in and out, but it hasn't malfunctioned. I wasn't aware that slides should have lubricant. Is that something to order from Camping World? Where would it be sprayed?

I would just like to point out to the OP of the thread about a small trailer and the only seating is the dinette. Yes, to each his own, but there are lots of factors one needs to consider when making any purchase; slide out or not, minimal seating, tt vs 5er vs MH, etc. As in the thread mentioned, the OP wants a different rv, but the financial aspect isn't working out. There's times a buyer will find it wasn't the best choice after a few trips. Sometimes, a buyer has to suck it up for a few years until it is time to trade.
Bottom line, yeah, we like to get info from people. But, ultimately you will have to decide what is best for you and sometimes the risk is worth taking. The end result is to

Best to find who the manufacture of your Slide is,,, then Google it,,, you should be able to find videos of how to maintain & lub your slide !!!

There's a dry spray on lube meant specifically for slide mechanisms. You want a dry lube so dirt and other things don't get stuck to it. You want to extend your slides all the way out then get underneath and spray the rails.

Our Sunseeker 2500TS is some what useable without opening the slides,,, unless you want to use the bed or get into the wardrobe... Draw backs are ,,, only seating is @ the dinette,,, and with out a TOAD,,, once you are set up @ camp,,, there you are !!!

Exactly! And, if your camping partner gets restless easy, having a toad allows you to go sightseeing together. That is exactly why we just bought one.
Now we are all set!

We do a little bike riding,,, but are to old to go very far !!! LOL !!!
Probably to late in life to buy a TOAD,,, But I would if we were younger,,, or maybe even a medium size TT ???

I am 60, and just bought a toad. Hoping to get it set up with the hitch, etc. next month. It seems like it's just endless $$$$.

If you are going to worry about stuff breaking all the time, I think you picked up the wrong hobby  ! I'm not sure I've gone on a trip where I didn't come home and have to fix SOMETHING.....
