Loud frig in new RV

We are currently on our maiden voyage with our new Rockwood 5th wheel. Making sure everything is working. So far it is great, just a few missing screws in the screen door that we fixed. However, the refrigerator is very loud. Constant loud humming, is this normal?

Ours is loud, too. It's actually the cooling fans most likely. Many folks replace them with better, quieter fans.

It's probably a converter fan located next to the refrigerator.

If you have that your unit converter is next to the door as you enter, so then I would say that you are hearing the fan in the upper part of the slide behind the air outlet for the refer. The fan shouldn't be running all the time just when the coil gets hot, the fan is directly below that top opening on the outside of the slide. I changed mine out and also added a second fan next to it. More air quicker coiling it's runs by a stat in the coil blade on the bottom left of the coil fin. Under warranty have them replace it.

My buddy had the same issue. He found out that his frig wasn't breathing properly. His frig is in the slide out resulting in the venting being placed on the wall of the slide out rather than on the top.

....continued.... Both of his vents are painted like a car ...and to prevent paint going into the vent, FR taped the backside of vent to prevent paint from going inside. However FR forgot to remove the tape which can only be found if the vent is removed. After the removal of the tape, the frig started to breath better and make less noise. He also added a computer fan to help cool the frig.
