I will say both time we have had firewood pilfered was at the same park. But I have since upgraded my TV and don't really go to that park anymore now that I can go farther without the worry of being overweight.

I turn my outside speakers on to listen to the ballgame (GO CARDS). usually not much louder than is required to hear them over the campfire or as background noise if we have visitors.

Detroit tigers? I guess somebody has to like em

We're the loud campsite during a football game... neighbors even tend to gravitate over to catch the game making our site even louder... but after the game ends, all is calm. And it's not the broadcast that's loud... it's me hooting and hollering... but just for away games... season tickets for the home games

If your music, ballgame, etc. can be heard outside your immediate camping area, than it is too loud in my opinion.

Agreed. Whenever I use my outside speakers, I always walk around the edges of my campsite to make sure the volume won't disturb anyone else. Having said that, if I had been group camping as a college student, the first thing I would have done, probably without thinking, would be to set up the speakers for rock and roll. Then I would have turned it down when asked.

I think it's good to remember that most kids that age mean well and most respond favorably to guidance if it's presented in the right way.

I agree to an extent. That's why I prefer spacious spread out camp grounds. If your neighbor is so close you can sneeze and hit them then anything is going to be heard. Even normal conversation. I know because this past weekend my neighbor at KOA was so close I could hear every conversation they had. Including the one where he was wishing they had my setup <giggle>. Plus his camp cooker was right outside my galley window. My kids got woke up to the smell of bacon each morning before we were even out of bed yet.

I prefer no noise when camping myself, but I can tolerate music at a moderate volume that is appropriate for the general public. What I cannot tolerate is someone blaring music that is completely inappropriate for my young daughters to hear. I will say that I don't recall any campers doing this- but boaters are a different story. I've had to leave lake beaches because some moron thought it was ok to blare raunchy music from his boat that could be heard a mile away.

My sister plays country music and that's just not something that's appropriate for anyone, much less the general public!

It's OK if the song includes something about a pick up, his mother and a lonely sounding train whistle in a rainy night.
